The part that gets me is the difference between male and female "armor" in some fighting games. The female armor often seems more decorative than protective.

But on the other hand, the guy characters in video games are generally attractive and well-built too. You don't usually see scrawny guys running around with guns. :)

Just got caught up on your memes! I haven't had much time on here the past week or so. Sorry I missed some good memes, and comment threads

The "uncanny valley" is a phenomenon described by roboticist Masahiro Mori. The idea is that as artificial representations of humans become more and more life-like, they tend to get more relatable or appealing, but then reach a point where their realism is so close to humanness (but not quite right) that it makes them creepy instead of appealing.

That close but no cigar point is called the "uncanny valley."

He was using it to describe people's responses to robots, but the principle could also be true for other artificial representations of humans (including digital characters in video games).

To expand a little on the "uncanny valley" explanation above, (in my case, anyway) there's also the factor that most of us are still watching cartoons when we start to realize that maybe them girls ain't so yucky after all, but we are more familiar with, more friendly with (if you will), the cartoons than with the real (formerly yucky) girls.

And that never really goes away...

I think it's sick and I'm a guy. I think it's more of a gamer thing. Lonely guys who are afraid to meet people (especially girls) and so feel like the animated characters are just as good, if not better, than the real women. And they don't ever reject them.

I work around a bunch of 19-22 year old boyswho think like this. All they ever talk about with each other is their games and the characters in the games. Never about anything else.

I think it's creepy and sick. Just weirds me out in general to think about a guy or a girl being wrapped up in fantasy so much that they "enjoy" it during personal time.

Hello sir
Any chance you remember what meme song templates were done? It's a big question I know lol

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean memes where people do the lyrics in the comments? Or do you mean meme chains that people did that have a song in them, ie, "Running Down a Meme" etc.
2 ups, 8y
Yes like running down a meme! I had an idea for one but don't want to do a double. I think I've seen 3 or so in my time here

Found it! It wasn't a chain meme though, or anything like that. So you might as well feel "free" if you're inspired lol. :)
