Top Ten Tips to Front Page Success!
1. NEVER REPOST! Reposts will destroy your reputation, even if they make the front page. Plus, it's just not cool. (accidental reposts are a different story though)
2. Try to be original and creative. For instance, a BLB meme- "falls down stairs, breaks leg" isn't really that great. Try to relate his bad luck to something you would HATE to have happen to you. Most likely, viewers will relate and give an upvote.
3. Understand that memes are like art; No, a Bad Luck Brian meme is not equivalent to The Mona Lisa. But you have to understand that what words and pictures you use greatly affects how much people like your stuff. It's like cartoon creation, honestly.
4. Try to submit your memes at good times. Even the greatest meme in the world will get 0 upvotes if nobody sees it. I find that submitting my memes at 10 (AM or PM) allows them to feature in about 2 hours at 12 (AM or PM). However, preferably 10 PM. I have seen memes featuring at that time get the most upvotes.
5. Do a lot, A LOT, of (Funny, witty, supportive) commenting. More people will check out your stuff and upvote your memes. Don't forget to upvote their's too!
6. Find your niche. Some people are great at political memes, (TodaysReality) others are really good at finding AWESOME pictures and giving them just the right captions (Raydog), others are great at MAKING awesome pictures and captioning them (Jying). Then there are people who just make funny stuff. I'll post a list of users you should check out in another comment ;D
7. Use alts (Jk, don't actually use Alts- Its pointless and takes all the fun out of everything).
8. MAKE SURE YOUR MEMES NEVER FEATURE ON PAGE 9 OF LATEST OR YOU WILL TURN INTO A WHINING TROLL AND LIVE UNDER A BRIDGE (AND DORA WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU THE F*** ALONE, EITHER)
9. Most importantly, remember, this is all for FUN! Making the front page is awesome, but honestly, the real satisfaction comes from sharing your ideas with other people who have nothing better to do than break Bad Luck Brian's neck (Sorry Brian) and also make tons of memes.
But seriously, the more you comment, the more fun you will have. I have seen tons funnier memes come out of comment threads than the original meme! And in the end, nobody cares about your digital points and pixelated icon on imgflip :P Just get loose, have some fun, and who knows? Maybe you'll be the next Raydog :D
10. Kiss Raydog's @$$ (I am not responsible for injuries nor legal fees
