Try it! You can help others' memes with upvotes and comments a lot more than you can help your own, and it's a good attitude.

It's more of a practical thing. You can't do anything to get your memes onto the front page, but you can play a part in influencing which other memes on the site get there.

I know it's kind of an oversimplified meme; obviously one upvote or comment from you isn't going to get someone else's meme onto the front page on its own. But everything helps. :)

The Dragon kid almost pulled it off by meme bombing his own meme. Lol!

I remember when he did that, but I don't remember it getting him close to the front page.

It got to the fourth page and am.ist the third until the mods made it to where he couldn't meme comment anymore.

But he did have a little help. It wasn't only his own comments. Shutupmeg and I were putting meme comments on there too.

That's fine. Nobody said you have to. You don't have to care about other people in order to have fun on this site. There are lots of different ways to enjoy imgflip.

You gave me that advice long ago when you said it's better to error on the side of upvoting. I took that to heart! The way you try not to miss any meme on this site and go out of your way to support people that might not otherwise be seen is commendable to say the least.

I suppose everyone has their own theory about "what would make imgflip a better place."

For me, it's more users visting the Latest stream regularly, and making sure to upvote some of the memes there. I think that would make the Hot pages refresh quicker (at least that's what I think would happen). That means we'd be seeing more variety near the top of the hot pages, which would be great.

It's true that Latest stream has some stuff you have to scroll past (like non-English memes or people's birthday wish memes etc), but there also is really a lot of interesting stuff by a whole mix of users that often goes largely unnoticed (except maybe by the relatively few users who cruise the Latest stream regularly). :)

I follow that example as much as I can, was easier when I was laid up with nothing to do but I still try. I think the people that do the best here are the fans of the site. I love being the first to comment on a meme and then have it blow up. I usually comment before I even look at who made the meme, if I like it I like it doesn't matter who makes it....

Yeah it's true, we have our little feuds with people then get grumpy when we see them making good memes!

Obviously, that's all just hypothetical. Not that I would know about anything like that hahahahaha lol! But I think it's easier to get away with stuff if you're funny.

There's usually a difference that people notice if you're trying to be funny or just being a jerk. Sarcasm has never gone over well in written form, and I'm very sarcastic.....

Some stuff like the fry overly attached girlfriend meme I make, but a lot of it is "clip-art" it's really easy to use you just have to find "transferable" images.

I know they are limiting our creativity!

I will have to check out those overlays. Because I have ideas in my head now to get them onto a meme LOL
