It is not 'perverted'. Perverted means twisted, kinky, and abnormal. I think perhaps our schools don't do enough to teach English to young folks today. It probably is a reflection on them not getting definitions across when words are so important to express what we want to say.

Men are attracted to women, especially good-looking women. It has been that way since the beginning of time. It is a good thing.

The man in this situation took his eyes off the road. He was careless, distracted, and not paying full attention as one should be when driving a car. Any of those terms would have been preferable in describing his behavior. You are absolutely right when you said that it is unacceptable behavior when driving a car to remove your eyes from the road.

To be clear about the political comment I made, I made it as there are so many people today against MEN and they really are targeted unjustly. You seem to be a young person...I thought you were one of these people we refer to as 'trolls' and they constantly comment on my memes. They often hate men and call them out for behavior that is 'normal'. I see now you are asking about the meaning of the word. I encourage you to always ask questions because your understanding of perversity was not correct.

And I agree that attraction itself isn't a bad thing. My issue was with the way he was looking at her, especially since he was driving and became distracted enough to cause a wreck. That's why I used the word “perverted.” I understand your point about the word's definition, though, and “leering” or “gawking” probably would've communicated what I meant more precisely.

As for your comment about people being against men, I don't think hating an entire gender is okay. But I can understand why some people develop that attitude. People can become distrustful or fearful after experiencing or hearing about harmful behavior from members of a particular group. That doesn't make generalizing about everyone in that group fair, but I think it's worth understanding where that reaction comes from.

We agree that it isn't good to be against males or females. Everybody is an individual and should be judged on their own behavior. I will agree that some men's behavior is less than desirable (thieves, rapists, pedophiles, etc.) and those people should be scorned and punished, IMHO.

Yeah, I think we're pretty much on the same page then. I wasn't trying to imply that men are bad or that most men aren't attracted to women, just that obviously there are exceptions and individuals shouldn't be generalized.

It is a very very small percentage of men who identify as gay...under 5%, I believe.

Just looked it up and it says, "Recent Federal surveys indicate that approximately 1.8% to 2.6% of U.S. adult men identify as gay."

I think we generally are on the same page as you say. We all know and love people who are gay.... friends and relatives....and adults have the freedom to live as they choose.

I draw the line when it comes to influencing our young. Children are like little sponges and are way too young to be exposed prematurely to this topic. Children need protection and should not be dragged to pride parades by their progressive parents. I am totally on the side of "Childhood innocence" and not "Child abuse".

I believe they should find out about LGBTQIA+ because their parents decided to tell them when they're ready.
Let's say a ten year old girl thinks another girl is pretty. This thought turns into a crush, and she's worried something is wrong with her because all the other girls like boys. She talks to her parents.
This is when the parents would explain what being homosexual is.
I agree that parents shouldn't drag their children to pride parades, but again with the political labeling... Not all progressives would do that.
And things like putting LGBTQIA+ characters in shows for children who are far too young to even understand also doesn't sit right with me.
They should know and learn, but when they're old enough to understand, and should be taught by their parents and not a TV show.

Parents should be the gatekeepers, I agree, and definitely not schools. Unfortunately, parenting doesn't really come with a rule book and you kind of figure it out as you go.

Have you ever been a parent? It is a powerful position to hold when you realize how much you can influence your child. I only wanted to plant good thoughts and good behavior in our children along with The Golden rule.
