You are spending too much time on left wing sites. US laws differ from location to location; there is a massive difference between a Portland OR cop and one in small rural Texas town as an example. I don't know of anywhere in the USA when police officers are allowed to beat people up. In fact, they are expected to help manage a horrific accident, help locate a missing child and prove medical care to an overdosing addict in a single shift. You owe the police more respect than you are giving them and if you can't give it and some serious event happens at your school, don't ask them to respond, handle it yourself.
