Should we really be calling it karma if the person is badly hurt

I think we have to look at the behavior that is shown in the video, Flick. I interpreted these actions as aggressive and perhaps abusive and therefore labeled it as Karma.

The gentleman trying to remove the man supported my interpretation as did the dark hoodie which is often used these days by bad people in commission of a crime.

If he was trying to break into his car, its okay to hurt him to protect yourself. But I dont think getting hospitalized is something that sould just get a quick laugh on the internet and that looked bad

In the "Dark Humour" stream, this would've gotten a ton of laughs
