Not getting bullied by Zelenskyy does not make you a Russian asset. This argument is so freaking old. I watched the entire Trump-Zelenskyy meeting, and Zelenskyy looked pissed the entire time and was being very demeaning. Trump actually was trying to be nice for a long time. Someone asked Zelenskyy about why he was dressed to run track while meeting the president of the country he was begging for help from, and Trump actually defended him.
The reason this deal didn't work out is because Trump's priority was getting a ceasefire, while Zelenskyy basically thought the US owed him militia and support. Trump was trying to get Putin and Zelenskyy to the bargaining table for a ceasefire, but Zelenskyy's attitude made it impossible. He wanted the US to basically fight for him, setting up a US vs Russia war, which, no matter how evil Russia is, is a stupid idea because it would risk World War 3. Trump isn't going to let Zelenskyy bully the US into waltzing into WW3, and Zelenskyy knows the media will take his side because they're so desperate to hate Trump that they literally will advocate for pure idiocy just to take the opposing side.
I think Trump televised this meeting to show the world who Zelenskyy really is, because the Dems and the media have covered up for him for a long time. Did you know that Ukraine doesn't hold elections during wars, and so as long as this war goes on, Zelenskyy stays president of Ukraine? Did you know that he actually came to America to join a campaign for Kamala? (makes sense, that administration prioritized him more than Americans and used american taxpayer dollars to send nearly Elon Musk's whole net worth to him). Did you know that he's never had interest in stopping the war because Biden kept sending him money? And any Ukrainian news anchor that reports this gets fired and anyone who mentions it gets immediately silenced on social media?
Of course he thinks we owe him because of his situation. He walked all over Biden, and so did Putin.
Neither can walk on Trump. Trump wants to make a deal with both Putin and Zelenskyy, so he's not going to badmouth Putin right before trying to cut a deal with him (another thing Zelenskyy wanted). That's just bad business, and you don't have to be a businessman to know it.
