Man, if you're mad about spending by the Democrats now wait till you learn what the Republicans do when they get control of the budget.

I agree with you but no one, absolutely no one, spends other people's money like Democrats. And with each Democrat president and Democrat control Congress the spending just gets worse and worse.

Especially now. Because the Democrats are fully committed to an awful economic policy that used to get ridiculed by both parties. Modern Monetary Theory is the idea that if the government needs money, they just print it. They used to criticize it because it causes inflation. And that's exactly what has happened. But the Dems are still so fully committed to it that they cannot see the damage they are causing.

Plus it begs the question, if printing money is the answer to all of their problems then they do not need our tax dollars any more. So we should all just stop paying taxes. They can just make up the different with more printing.

The Republicans have done a great job of messaging that somehow the Democratic party is the one full of reckless spending.

But.

How much do you think Reagan increased the debt by? Like in terms of a percentage. How much?

It was 186%.

Reagan was the King Zaddy for government spending.

Bush 1? 54%.

Bush 2? 101%

But you're probably thinking, "oh, If the Republicans were spending like drunk sailors on shore leave, what about Carter, Clinton and Obama? It must be massive!"

Clinton: 32%.

Obama: 72%.

Carter? 42%.

Take a moment to think about that Obama number. He had to deal with economic collapse of the Bush 2 Administration. Where we dumped money on everything. And he STILL came in under both Bushes.

So, if you're really invested in lower deficit spending; stop voting for Republicans.

I never liked either Bush. Jr was slightly better than Sr but both were pretty much donkey wearing elephant costumes.

The problem with increased spending has a little to do with the president and much more to do with Congress and the media. Ever since the Marxist taxation scheme was forced on us in the dark of night our country has been sold a bill of good that we much provide a social safety net to take care of all of the people who will be hurt by paying for a social safety net. This created unfunded mandates. Mandates such as social security, welfare, Medicare and a few others. The cost of funding those mandates rises every year. With Democrats you also get excess printing of dollars to weaken our currency, which also forces the government to increase spending.

Then their are all of those entirely unnecessary pork projects that Dems need federal money on. There's a lot of Republicans who spend like drunken Democrats as well.

Sure presidents can veto spending bills but then the Dems threaten to shut down the government if there is any challenge anywhere to their constant spending spree. And they always shut down the more public facing parts of the government, never and of the utterly useless agencies. It is all a big show.

So it really doesn't matter who gets in the White House, spending is going to increase, UNLESS We The People stop voting for any Democrat and a whole lot of Republicans and put real Constitutional conservatives in office to once and for all put the brakes on all of that spending and all of the unfunded mandates. The left will scream bloody murder if that ever happens. It doesn't matter that the poverty rate before Johnson's Great Society welfare program was around 40% and after almost 60 years of it the poverty rate is still around 40%. Welfare is a complete waste of money and should have been dumped decades ago when all it ever did was destroy families. Social Security would have a far better return on investment if it was handled through the stock market instead of the government. Plus politicians constant raid any money that was supposed to go to social security.

The fact of the matter, is it doesn't matter who the president is unless we put the brakes on it with people who know how to put the brakes on it.

The problem is corporate greed has increased dramatically since Jan. 20, 2021, and the federal government can print as much money as it wants with no effect on inflation.

Biden was sworn in as POUS on Jan. 20, 2021. It is only a coincidence that corporate greed began to increase on that date. This is scienticly measured by the CGI, Corporate Greed Index.

It's really the same thing. Corporations and the money elite own the government.
