As you know, enoch, you are a tough one to categorize or understand. You are more of an independent type, and I'm not saying that is bad or good. I'm just saying it is you and that is the way you think and I accept that.

Me, I am very much on the right and embrace Americans over illegals & place America first. I like the Libertarian side of you but wish you would acknowledge the dangerous/destructive side of Liberalism.

I am a strong believer in law, order & equal justice. You are a smart man so would think you would join the 'rational' Americans and not the 'radicals' (who have shown themselves to be very intolerant, very abusive to the minds of innocent children, committed to censorship, not very peaceful, ETC.).

We are on a course of self-destruction under the tutelage of Old Joe Biden and I wish you would join the sane, right side of life. 🫰

PARTISANSHIP IS A CANCER TO CONTROL PEOPLE SOLD AS A PRODUCT | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
the dangerous side of liberalism you are talking about actually has a term.
illiberalism.

and i agree, it is a problem.
one i call out and pushback on constantly.
which is what i almost exclusively do on this site.
can't get to the politics if we can't agree on the basics of analytical foundations.
rhetoric is not analysis.
talking points are not debate.
this is partisan hackery.
whose sole point is to either "own the libs" or "trigger rightwing snowflakes".
but most of all, it is lazy.
which is why i poke fun of it at ever chance.
i am an equal opportunity offender.

if a person refuses to call out their own political party they lose all credibility in my eyes.

and let me clear here.
i differentiate a political party from the normal folk who may identify with that party, because there is an ocean of difference.
i separate a government from it's citizens, because their actions rarely align with what the people want.

i absolutely am of the opinion that your posts and commentary are all created in good faith.
which is why i engage with you in kind.

the Biden presidency, even trumps, has been a decades long slide into plutocracy that has long been understood, and predicted.
and it has been 100% a bi-partisan endeavor by our elected officials.

we, all of us, have been betrayed on a fundamental level by the political class.

I just wrote you several paragraphs but somehow found the 'ONE KEY' on the keyboard that erases the comment and there is no "undo" feature available! I cannot share what key it is cuz I hit one and everything disappeared! So, this response will be short as I had already said everything I wanted in the deleted version. Have only myself to blame but unfortunately have no time to go through it all again.

You are a very special guy, very intelligent but kinda frustrating to me as I see things so clearly on the far right. That's just me and I will own it. You definitely come from more of a middle position from which I just want to yank you and say, "Don't give 'em an inch or they'll take a mile, enoch." I am not saying I am right & you are wrong, I am just saying I am far right and I feel very comfortable there as you probably do in the middle.

I have nothing good to say about the 2023 Dems. Nada, zero, zilch. It pains me to see what they have done to our country. You see that but to give them 'any credence' basically gives them support so I just cannot go there. They are our enemies. I am very confident of my unwavering disgust of them. Sorry if that seems harsh but between their hatred for America, their risky/financially unsustainable open borders, their undying efforts to remove the innocence from children, to their efforts to divide/pit the races against one another, I am done.

I wrote about the plutocracy in length but cannot write any more right now. Anyway, thanks for your comment & sorry I had not answered sooner, enoch, but did put it on my list 'to not forget' to respond. My next list will start with 'copy/paste out of yr email'...

I listened to a former liberal minded individual tell Michael Knowles her thought process as a liberal. Each new twist and distorted turn made perfect sense to her and she would buy into the next ideological as it was introduced. Finally something she was told made no senseand it all broke for her. Then she was depressed thinking that she hated both sides now. It took sometime but eventually the conservative side made more sense which lost her all of her lifelong friends. Should be able to still find it for a education into the bizarro world

Interesting and illustrative on different levels, 1Diogenes1. You and I agree that a whole lot of Bizarro World is currently going on. There are so many out of mind experiences going on that rational people SHOULD be on our side. The fact that all people 'are not' on our side speaks to the fact that 'Liberalism Is Indeed a Mental Disorder' as far too many of their issues MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL.

Indeed! Many issues go directly against other "important issues" but they are passionate about both. I was poli sci and education double major until I asked the dean of education, in a world of bell shaped curve for learning abilities, why are we forcing all kids to learn algebra. If someone will never use that level of math, why do we set so many up to fail? His answer? We need them to all think alike...? I changed majors. It's been decades of indoctrination subtle at first to openly blatant. Wanting everyone to think alike is not just evil and disgusting, but the world needs people that are unique. People that can invent and innovate should always be cultivated and encouraged. Civilization becomes stagnant very fast without these things. America has become such a mess that we make things up to be mad about. Each outrage must be embraced by the masses without question. Any cognizant dissonance experienced must be crushed by the group think mob. Sadly I don't believe we have yet seen how deep the insanity train is going to run. One group wants to be seen as normal, accepted, and mainstream and when they are, another fringe group demands the same thing. They say diversity, but diversity of thought is not accepted. We have gone where we can't accept that we are all just humans. We are special simply because we are human. "I am what I do, or look like, or believe. I am" No civilization has ever lasted when this mentality takes over. There is always a great fall and a long dark period. The next fall, no one left alive will want to be a part of. Tragically, when all you have is hatred, shouting, and violence; you are ill equipped to survive such a fall. Those of us choosing yobrave the storm and calls for our "heads" may only be able to save a relative few. Still, gotta try.

Can't say I disagree with you on anything. I thought we had about reached 'bottom' on the insanity train but will brace myself for the upcoming ride as you seem to think there can be more coming. You're probably right as they do tend to exceed our expectations.

as lefty as they come.
liberals are to the right of me.

i think, or assume really.
is due to the fact that i pushback against liberal talking points just as vociferously as i do rightwing talking points.
which gives the appearance of a centrist political viewpoint.
but i rarely post my politics here, nor my opinion.
probably lost some mates on this site for stating my politics.
no matter.

i do not judge people by their politics.
i find it weird to predicate a friendship on political affiliation.
it just shows a major misunderstanding of what politics actually is.
i judge people on their character.

most people want what is best.
they just have different ideas on how to achieve that goal.

when you understand that everything is politics, then you don't get too hung up on the particulars.
you and your husband deciding what's for dinner?=politics.
some lib pundit arguing with some repub on CNN?=theater

i come to this site to see how the current political theater is being digested.
which, because it is a meme site, is usually reduced to talking points.
liberal talking points.
rightwing talking points.
little bit of rhetoric sprinkled with some demagoguery.

but my main goal is to understand.
which is why i am familiar with douglas murray, and thomas sowell.william f buckley.
and also why i am versed in chomsky, marx and arrendt.

i understand you are comfortable on the far right.
but i do not find you to be close minded.
liberals seem to confuse you though.

may i suggest jonathan haidt and his book "the righteous mind"?
you can watch his ted talk on the book on YouTube.
he lays out the psychology of both liberals and conservatives.
it won't give you liberal cooties, but it may help you understand why liberals are liberals.

understanding is the first step in forming meaningful coalitions.
not going to agree on everything, but divided like this nothing gets done.
just an idea.

Then, to move to this...uh, enoch, do you have two personalities? Do these synonyms describe you in the meme I attached? If so, my thought of bringing you over to our side is pretty daunting...

But we do have a couple things in common:

1. You "judge people on their character."
Yes, I agree and on their behavior.

2. You seem to like or love animals?
I love animals.

Liberals only confuse me as they are confused. I am not at all confused. I know right from wrong as I have a very well developed conscience and a lot of Libs (not all) seem to have an underdeveloped conscience and quite frankly, no moral compass at all. Some Libs are also gender confused which I have never ever experienced.

You said, "most people want what is best.
they just have different ideas on how to achieve that goal."

I believe most people are good but there are acceptable ways to go about doing things and then there are bad ways. I see many Conservatives (not all) who share similar outlooks. I think the J6ers were at the Capitol for all the right reasons and I believe that they were set-up by Pelosi, the FBI and the police that day. On the other hand, I see the summer riots and rage against America, the police, and businesses as the wrong way to achieve any goal. Violence is not the answer and can only be if it is the last resort.

Thanks for the reading suggestions. When I find some time, I would like to check them out....
