Pretty darn clear to EVERYONE who has seen it until you. Thanks for trying... But you lost the argument, quit digging yourself deeper.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_power_(United_States_constitutional_law)

"In United States constitutional law, police power is the capacity of the states to regulate behavior and enforce order within their territory for the betterment of the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of their inhabitants. Police power is defined in each jurisdiction by the legislative body, which determines the public purposes that need to be served by legislation. Under the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, the powers not delegated to the Federal Government are reserved to the states or to the people. This implies that the Federal Government does not possess all possible powers, because most of these are reserved to the State governments, and others are reserved to the people."

Last I looked, 40+ states and many metro areas had imposed some sort of stay-at-home order, encompassing 95% of Americans. https://www.businessinsider.com/us-map-stay-at-home-orders-lockdowns-2020-3

Plenty of Republican governors among them, not to mention leaders of countless cities and counties. Looking after public safety doesn't make one a RINO. Or, if it does, then your definition of the word "Republican" is whack and puts you far to the right of even President Trump.

Hope this helps

first, president trump is a very moderate moderate republican it's very easy to go right of him. Second what does suspending our 2nd amendment among other rights by FEDERAL governments have to do with being in lockdown? Do you even know someone who has died from corona virus? I've asked so many people here and you know what their answer is it's NO.

This is specifically talking about the tyranny being imposed by the left and very few of the GOP governors. Most GOP governors that did lockdowns did so as late and as minimally as possible (since of course, they proved unnecessary) and are slowly undoing them so we can get back to normal. The Governors in the states mentioned have gone way overboard and "didn't think about the Bill of Rights" as the Gov of NJ stated flat out....

So you're wrong in your comment and I hope this helps YOU.

But knowing your track record of spin, it won't.

“They proved unnecessary.” Your argument is full of holes, but this is the big one.

45,000 deaths and counting in America: and that’s with the social distancing measures we have. It would have been much worse without them, and they will be if we reopen too early.

I do not see most places in this country being ready to open back up in two weeks.

Trump himself acknowledged this recently when speaking on the Governor of Georgia’s plans to reopen. Trump said he wouldn’t intervene with the planned re-opening, of course, but that’s because he can’t under the Constitution.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1190061

Frankly, Trump has been all over the map these past couple weeks and playing both sides of this issue, but this time he’s right.

We average 5,600 deaths every single day in the USA. It varies by about 100 + or - in normal times. I would like to knobs the TOTAL daily death rate for March 1 to the present and compare.

https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths/united-states

Part of the problem lies in how we're calculating COVID deaths. Remarkably, deaths from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke, chronic lung disease, Alzheimer's, kidney disease, and others have plummeted by as much as 50% because Deborah Birx has instructed hospitals to code any death where the deceased passed away WITH coronavirus as dying FROM coronavirus even without testing.

Sketchy.

So when he's wrong, you agree with him. How convenient..

Social distancing has helped, but lockdowns have proven to have failed. Clearly. So undo the lockdowns and stop the collateral damage that's causing far greater harm to this country.

Evidence is VERY clear they failed. See California and the antibody study... Many of those contract and defeated the illness naturally during lockdowns. Florida started lockdowns later and still are in pretty good shape. NYC is a special case and needs special treatment of course, but the rest of the country does not need to follow NYC's model of handling. Neither does most of NY state.

When Trump's right, I agree with him. Because I'm not afflicted by TDS. Rare but it happens.

What do you mean by "failed"? Lockdowns haven't prevented *all* deaths, of course. But they've unquestionably helped slow the spread ("flatten the curve") while we figure out more about the virus and, hopefully, find a real cure/vaccine and scale it up into production.

Obvious statement time: This is a brand-new disease.

In re: California results. Dr. Fauci recently suggests that there may be two different strains of the virus, one predominating on the West Coast and one on the East Coast. That would potentially explain why New York has been hit harder, and maybe California can open back up sooner. But we don't know for sure yet.

https://news.yahoo.com/dr-anthony-fauci-not-overly-173637369.html

All the uncertainty over this virus underscores why caution is needed at this time, not recklessness.

I sure hope it's not as deadly serious as the experts think, and we can quickly get back to normal, but we just don't know yet.

If you'd listen to facts, you'd know now like most of us do.
1 up, 5y,

Some facts people fail to see: RNA viruses will never have an effective vaccine, best we can do is antiviral treatments, the real death rate is calculated by using those infected, so at 0.1% flatten the curve is meaningless. 90%+ of deaths are age over 70 and/or 3 or more preexisting conditions.

Flatten the curve is more about not overwhelming our health care facilities and care givers with the increasing number of sick while PPE and cures are sought. Once that is under control many other essential postponed and preempted procedures and surgeries can resume. The death toll arguments are a humanitarian plea and position applied to a utilitarian issue.

Go to your local hospital and ask to visit the Covid-19 ward. There isn't one. The hospitals are empty.
See with a less than 0.1% death rate you won't have very many hospitalizations at all, even if it were 0.1% of the full population 329,558,346. 0.1% is 329,558 we have 922,763 hospital beds in the US.
0 ups, 5y
Okay. I’ll take your word for it. I don’t need to check.
