No, it doesn't help. Of course the press is supposed to ask tough questions. That's what the founders intended.

But, what if the press corps contains agents of the Chinese govt? It's not so far-fetched, when you consider that the NBC stations have all been parroting the talking points of the Chinese communist govt.

I'm not saying I know that for sure, because I only heard it reported, and haven't checked it out.
