I've been slacking on my photoshop contests. Actually been crazy busy. Dad had to have a tendon reattached so I been on the farm a lot. Thought I was just tired and hurting like usual, my ear started killing me and I went to the ER with a 103 fever! So yeah I'm on bed rest coughing up all this lovely stuff that's draining down now. I gotta get well I can't let mom do it all by herself. I usually have to go over there and help both of them, not like it's far just the other end of the property, just a stressful time of year with a bunch of bad luck...

Thanks :) I'm already better than I was, but these antibiotics are strong and tearing my guts apart. Dad has another month about, he can't risk the tendon tearing. I need to get my daughter doing some labor lol. Kid is smarter than me acing college classes at 17, but damn I was working construction for cash under the table when I was younger than her. Hell I bought a 65 Mustang at 14 and had it paid off before I could drive it! Oh well, she's amazing, I have no right to complain but I will anyway ;)
3 ups, 7y
Some good new then. We do come from a different generation, I grew up on a dairy and horse farm so I didn't know anything but work. I bet you wish you still had that 65 Mustang! Hey if shes at least acing her classes you got it good :)

It feels like we come from a different world sometimes lol. Dairy farm, man that's early morning work right there. Them cows get pissed if you make them wait lol. We have around 500 blackberry bushes, plus the garden and the chickens. We'd already taken our 30 meat chickens to the Amish ladies that charge $2 a bird to process them by hand for us. We eat all year on those, as organic as you can get ;)

Yes I wish I had that car now! I worked for it so it wasn't like I didn't appreciate it. I was a punk kid pissed at moving half way across the country back then though. Drove through a flooded low water bridge and the brakes got wet. Couldn't stop at the stop sign but that tree stopped me plenty good :( I like to think that if I'd been older I would have turned around or something but who knows. It is what it be lol.

I have an amazing kid I know this. I took her out of public school and that has proven to be the best thing I could have done for her. You've seen the grammar on some of the memes these kids make it's scary sad. She just finished this art history class, on her midterm 17 kids failed and 2 passed, she got the only A. The reason so many failed was from poor grammar, most of them had already taken college english courses my daughter hasn't yet. She thanked me that day for sharing my love of reading with her lol. Proud papa moment big time! People don't read anymore unless it's a text or something like it. College students failing midterms because of grammar?? They spent countless more hours in a classroom than my daughter has, she has spent countless more hours than them with her nose in a book. I guess it's pretty obvious which activity is better for learning. We really don't even need the school system anymore, except as free day care I guess. It seems to me the only thing kids learn at school anymore is to hate learning. The few that do like it get picked on, it's a broken system...

Maybe back then I would have but knowing what I know now I'm glad I grew up on the farm, we had 2 barns and one of them only had the hand pump for water, we had to make sure to leave a full 5 gallon pail of water beside it to be able to prime start it again lol.

Disclaimer: I only hand milked cows if we lost power :)

PS: the first 2 cars I owned was a 1971 Mustang and a 1971 Dodge Dart.

Does your animation program have a morph option? I used that on this animation the other day, as well as others, and it worked well to smooth out the between frame transitions.

Animation program? I make the still pics on a pixel editor and loaded them here that's it. I have been playing around with another gif generator. It has more options and I believe something like what you are talking about, you can make them as big as you want there and even crop or enlarge ones you have made here.

I keep forgetting that Imgflip can allow you to make animated gifs from scratch. I've been using Paint Shop Pro for most of the editing, and the companion program, Animation Shop to make the GIFs for well over a decade. The only limit I have is based on my computer's memory. Even this little video I did had to be broken up into different segments because of memory (NSFW link: https://youtu.be/BVKdgzGdMF4) Had I realized it, I could have done all of the animation in Windows Movie Maker

Their gif generator is better than it used to be. They just won't let you do certain things other sites will without paying for it. I've basically used the same version of the pixel editor I started on. The first one screwed up the format but then I found toolpic.com. My new laptop had one on it already that is almost exactly the same so I use that now.

I use thumb drives to solve the memory issue. When I'm creating stuff I save a ton of pics. I've filled the drive enough to slow this thing way down in one day before lol. I guess I can buy more memory for it somehow, pretty nice system they got going I guess.

I've been playing around with ezgif.com. I can take a gif I made here and make it larger. It's funny they want you to pay on this site to remove the imgflip mark from your gifs. I can crop those off in a minute at ezgif lol. It's still new I'm figuring stuff out, which of course is fun to me ;)

when I made the "Groovy" GIF, the original picture was so large that AniShop couldn't handle it (1280 x 720 pixels) as it was, after reducing the size to about half that, it still came in close to 4 meg. These days it doesn't sound too big, but I learn GIF animation back in the days of dial-up. I rarely went over 100K for an animation.

I used online tools for a while, but wasn't always happy with the results.

I'm still relatively new at the gifs, I know absolutely nothing about video editing. I just make the still pics and try and get them to flow as best I can. When I won some photoshop contests on a site that is ranked in the top 15 funniest sites on the internet "fark.com." I realized there really isn't anything I can't do with a pic now and started looking for new challenges.

Kinda sucks when that happens to me at first but it does. Like when I realized the key to doing good here has nothing to do with how good you are at creating memes. If you put in the time and pop up everywhere telling people you are upvoting them you will do good. So now I've fallen in love with trying to figure out reddit. The way it's set up is like a site with a ton of smaller sites on it all of them with their own categories and rules. Some that I post on have a few thousand subscribers and some like the main gif one has 16 million readers on it. Some are filled with douchebags, some are filled with awesome people, and some are just filled with everybody.

It's a much harsher environment than this one. You have to have a thick skin or you won't last long. Here is my favorite example of how reddit differs from imgflip. This is the 8th rule for posting on their main meme subreddit which is ranked the #1 meme site on the internet...

Please avoid re-posting memes. We want original content. If you need to be told that remaking an exact meme still on the front page with a different picture is a repost, we regret to inform you of your mental retardation.

I love my friends on here, you guys are great people. But damn if I don't like posting on a site with some balls for a change ;)

Yeah, Reddit has gotten tougher over the years, but it doesn't take long for someone to fit in (or get ousted) there. With other interests, I just didn't have the time for it, but I still have an account there. Usually, you'll catch me on Imgur posting the same stuff there that I do here. bigger audiance, but, amazingly enough, I've been on the front page there a few times a month lately. Funny part: those posts didn't attract any attention here. By the same token, stuff that goes over well here, dies in user sub there.

I know exactly what you mean. This site has a very specific audience type, I've known for a long time what stuff they like to upvote. My creativity doesn't work that way though, I can't force it, I have to just let it flow and see where it takes me.

Making the front page of imgur is a nice accomplishment. I tried it out many many moons ago and didn't care for it. I wasn't even very good at photoshop back then though.

I just found out that reddit will make the points on your memes go up and down a couple or few every time you reload. You know why? So that people with alt accounts have trouble telling if they cheated successfully! It's so damn refreshing to be on a site with mods that care and enforce their terms of service. I'd tell you my user names only I want to remain anonymous over there. I got some stalkers over here that search for my private messages and one that copies every comment I make. I don't want that following me over there. I want nothing but honest votes based on the quality of the meme. The only way to maintain that is to keep my usernames to myself. I have a lot of new audiences to figure out, I don't need any distractions

One thing I've found about the negative stalkers is that they are jealous of any creativity. I posted on Usenet, literally, for decades (20+ years is 2 decades) It was pretty much anything goes. Not too often, but the line could be crossed. No mods, but plenty of trolls. One finally slipped up in his rant at me about me being funnier than other posters. He hated it when I'd get into a thread of "1-upmanship" because I could hold my own. True, it was rare that I could be topped, but when I was, I'd concede. I loved it not from masochistic tendencies, but more like a teacher that has seen a pupil thrive in the environment.

There's always going to be haters, can't help that.

Still, if you ever have a question about making anime GIFs let me know. I'd be happy to help with any questions.
