Soon the reinforcements arrived to fend off the remaining Mongols. After the battle, Xiao was given an honorable burial alongside his Guan Dao, who was buried with him.
And that concludes this legendary tale!
*The librarian stood up*
And as you can see, the very same Guan Dao that Xiao used is right here! It passed centuries buried, then when it was uncovered, it was eventually brought here into this library.
*Some guests applaud*
Librarian: They say that this weapon will burn anything it touches…
Any questions?
Random guest: Can you narrate a better story
Librarpian: Better??! This is a legendary tale of a warrior that fought to protect their country! Their land!
Another random guest: can we go now?
The Librarian sighed as he put away the book he had in hand.
Librarian: Yes… you can go now…
Xiao sent a messenger to request for reinforcements, in the meantime he, with his army reduced to half and those who remained mostly injured, would have fought the Mongols.
Even with Xiao's incredible strength, his army eventually fell, with him standing alone on the battlefield, but not without halving the Mongol army.
On his knees, he said:
“My army fell to the hands of the enemy… Excellent warriors… I shall not succumb to these barbarians before I have left a burn they cannot forget…
They consider themselves a star, the best among others… but a fading star cannot dream to best the light of the rising sun…”
Xiao stood up.
“Tonight… a star shall fall”
He swung his weapon as a breath of fire came out of it.
Determined to fight as long as he could, he stamped the ground with his Guan Dao and suddenly flames erupted around a portion of the Mongol army, making a circle of fire.
From outside of the tall fire flames could be seen rising in the sky, alongside the sound of metal clashing.
Xiao fought off the portion of Mongols he trapped, his weapon constantly on fire, burning through all the enemies.
But Xiao was not left unscathed, he had been stabbed in the bottom left portion of the abdomen, but such was not enough to stop him.
Xiao rushed through the tall flames he created, fighting the rest of the Mongol army. The grass below his feet burned as he stepped on it, those who clashed with him and sometimes even hitting him were burnt.
With wide and powerful slashes he created storms of fire. He handled all the warriors coming at him, even when hit, slashed or perforated.
Having defeated most of the army, he stood in the middle of the fiery battlefield among hundreds of corspses. Reinforcements still needed time to arrive.
With the wounds and injuries he had, bruises on his knees, ribs crushed down to pieces and nothing left to hold on, he rushed at the Mongols.
Xiao's eyes emitting a fiery determination, he jumped into the air. It seemed as if a fire Chinese dragon followed him into the air. He shifted his grip on his Guan Dao and threw it at the Mongols, the fire dragon following the Guan dao, opening it's mouth.
When the weapon hit the ground, the massive fire dragon exploded into flames onto the Mongols, burning them to a crisp.
Xiao fell to the ground, and there he let out his last breath.
Hello there. This is a series full of Filler Stories, they have medium to no correlation with the main stories, well, that's what Filler Stories are.
This series is divided into 3 chapters, for now, each chapter will have 3-5 episodes.
The first one will have 4 episodes, the first of which will be narrated shortly.
There may be more chapters if this series is of your interest, otherwise, I'll stop at chapter 3. The narrator will be mostly in third person, narrated by a Librarian in the Library of Alexandria.
This first chapter will focus on stories and tales on Earth. Enjoy :)
Chapter 1; Episode 1
Librarian: Well hello there my 17 guests!
“…”
Librarian: Welcome to the first floor of the Librarian of Alexandria! I am the Librarian of said floor and I'll be teaching you about certain artifacts and their stories.
The Librarian sat down on a chair, next to a big glass box with a Guan Dao inside, a sort of spear with a blade on the end.
He held a thick book to his chest while the so called “17 guests” were sitting on chairs in front of him.
Librarian: This is a tale of History, but because I don't want you all to fall asleep and this isn't a History lesson, I'll make sure to narrate more in a… story-like way.
*Comically looks at directly the reader*
Disclaimer to my guests, History in this world is different but similar to what you think it is. Especially during the ancient times. *He looks back at his book*
*Ahem*
Long ago, around the 13th century, while the Chinese Empire was being attacked by a population of Mongols, there lived a General, Xiao Liu, an excellent fighter descendant of an ancient royal dynasty. He possessed, just like his Ancestors, the Blessing of the Dragon. He could make fire with his weapon, which was also passed down by his Ancestors, and some tales say that he could summon a dragon for him to ride into the skies.
Xiao Liu, alongside his army, defended the Empire from the first attack of the Mongols, but they were not prepared for what came next.
What Xiao Liu and his army fought wasn't the actual invasion, even if they were very strong, instead a much bigger and fiercer army came marching towards them.
