Don't buy it....if he's granting you a "hall pass" that means he either wants one too or he's done something and wants a an excuse because then you did it too.
Horseshoe crab...not good eating...only the eggs and that is debatable...they do eat them in Thai cuisine but I'm not a fan of that cuisine. They do use them for medical research...though.
