car politics, anyone? | You can't refuse to buy a car from a Chinese company just because it's Chinese. A lot of companies, including Volvo, Tesla, and GM still manufacture a good portion of their fleet in China. If anything, the reasons why I prefer legacy automakers over newer automakers are because they're more reliable and valued more in car culture due to how much experience and time they've been in the industry. Sure, big F-150s, manual BMWs, and JDM imports may not be the best for the environment, but they're reliable, serious cars that make driving more of an art or adventure and less of a chore.
