Other signs the Bible gives for us to know we're in the last days, is the push for a one world government, religion, and economy, with its big-brother society, persecution of God's people across the whole planet, figures like the Antichrist and False Prophet rising, the technology developed to control the buying and selling across our entire world, and some Mark of the Beast system to identify people with something put on their right hand and forehead. Again, God is not going to tell us the day or hour because we'd probably goof off until the time comes. However, He is telling us when it's close; not so we can prepare for horrible times but instead, it’s to encourage us that the time is near when we get to see Jesus! If we love Him, aren't we longing to see Him? God knows we are longing to be with Christ so all these prophecies are His way of saying, "Hey, Jesus will be there to rescue you soon!" Why would we run from that? I want to see Him, say thank you, and hopefully give Him a big hug. And I want to have something I've done for Him to lay at his feet. I can't wait to be part of Jesus' Millennial Kingdom! I also want to see and be a part of the New Heavens and Earth. Day after day, they get on television, claiming we can have a perfect life full of riches beyond our most ambitious dreams, just as the gurus in India promise Hindus. Both the Word of Faith people and Hindu gurus also promise perfect health. Still, the Church today is silent about these people in our midst. And what is the result? Second Peter tells us it brings the truth of Christianity into shameful disrepute. We must call a spade a spade! Peter speaks to us, the future Christian Church: "In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they made up. Then there's this important fact about the rock solid credibility of the Bible: Scripture was written over a period of 1500 years, through 40 generations, by 40 authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fisherman, poets, statesmen, etc. Before getting saved, I used to say the Bible was whipped up by men. But even on his best day, man could never put together something like the Bible. The writers didn't even know each other so how can critics claim they conspired? The diverse authors to the Bible were from all over the spectrum: Moses, was a political leader; Peter, a Fisherman; Amos, a herdsman; Joshua, a military general; Nehemiah, a cup bearer; Daniel, a prime minister; Luke, a doctor; Solomon, a King; Matthew, a tax collector; and Paul was a rabbi. Scripture was written in all kind of places: the wilderness, a dungeon, on a hillside, in a palace and a prison, while traveling, on the Island of Patmos by John, and during military campaigns. The last one of course was at a time of war but the Bible was also put down on paper in times of peace. So there were many different moods of the authors, from the heights of joy to the depths of despair and sorrow. On top of all that, Scripture was written on three continents (Asia, Africa and Europe) in three languages (Hebrew, Koine Greek, and a small part, Aramaic). With those aspects of the Bible in mind, here are the mind-blowers: Never once does the Bible contradict itself and it gives the same message throughout the Old and New Testament. Christians can fully bank on the Bible, knowing it's exactly what God laid out for us as the only way that contains all truth, as well as the correct history and future. Contrary to that solid foundation for life, involving a relationship with Jesus, religions and cults just prescribe rituals, donations, worship of different entities, mantras, sacrifices, and other works of that nature. But those don't reveal ultimate knowledge because only the Bible can do that. Of course the Bible has skeptics so let’s look at the evidence: Skeptics say we can’t trust that it was Moses, around 1445 B.C., who wrote about the Garden of Eden in Genesis. However, with all due respect, that's the importance of genealogies. With the Bible, we can look at the lives of just three men in Genesis 10, who together cover the first 2157 years of mankind. How could that time period be so long? Of course it's because man had a longer life span at the beginning and that's not just some spiritualization of the Genesis text. We even know it’s scientifically possible, as we dealt with in detail through our study, "In the Days of Noah," as part of our "Creation Series." So, the history being repeated in the Bible is from only three guys, who knew each other for a long, long time. It wasn't just some weekend conference where
