The U.S. government ordered the media not to tell the American people about them, hoping that Japan would give up on the project--which they did. But this conspiracy to hide the truth had a downside, of course. On May 5th, 1945 a minister & his wife took their Sunday school class to a camping spot near Bly, Oregon. The kids found an object they didn't recognize & messed around with it; the minister then had the misfortune to witness the death of 5 children, his wife & their unborn child. In 1947 a pair of balloons which had stayed aloft for years finally came down in New Mexico; one near Aztec, another near Roswell.
