story time i guess...

story time i guess... | So one time my friend and I were hosting a Melee tournament at our city's rec center and we really made a big deal out of this by advertising it on the rec center's website for a whole month. When we're finished setting up and people were arriving we realized we were three Gamecubes short. So my friend calls his aunt to bring over my red Wii, and his two white Wiis (one of which was pretty much yellow) and yeah they pretty much save the tournament. Anyways, the tourney was going smoothly my friend did announcing because I hate public speaking and I monitored the gaming equipment. After the third match of the quarter-finals, a girl came to me and said that the Gamecube she played at was smoking. I started to panic went over to the console. It was indeed smoking and the tv was still on showing Falco's frozen win screen. I called my friend over and asked what to do. He asked if had a spare console. I said no because i only had my red Wii. We then got the idea to go to GameStop because it was 4 blocks away from the rec center. But they didn't have any used Wiis or Gamecubes. We did just did what was most logical, close off the station and retire the black Gamecube. So in hindsight I'll from this experience and try to be more prepared than excited.
