WHAT DID MARK TWAIN SAY ABOUT CHRISTIAN SCIENCE?
Gerald Bergman, PHD, wrote about the time Mark Twain encountered a Christian Science practitioner—and set her straight: “On a vacation Twain fell off a cliff in Austria and ‘broke some arms and legs and one thing or another.’ After being rescued by local peasants, he searched in vain for a doctor. Finally, a Christian Science practitioner was located who was vacationing in the village. Unable to come immediately she sent Twain the message to relax because there was nothing wrong with him, and his feelings of pain were ‘imagined,’ therefore he needed no treatment.
The practitioner, a large middle-aged woman with an austere face,
later came to help Twain deal with his imagined broken bones. When trying to convince Mr. Twain that the pain he was then experiencing didn’t exist, she accidentally raked her hand on a pin in her dress, said “ouch” in pain, then tranquilly went on trying to convince Mr. Twain that pain doesn’t exist. Needless to say, she failed to convince Mr. Twain that his bones did not hurt and there was no such thing as pain. Fortunately, Mr. Twain survived, no doubt because he found someone who was concerned with setting bones instead of selling a dangerous pseudoscientific religious philosophy. Mr. Twain’s
book is written to bring many chuckles, but the religion it discusses
is about the serious business of death. Many tragic deaths
have occurred due to [Mary Baker] Eddy’s teachings.” | image tagged in mark twain, christian science, cult, god, bible, jesus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FALSE RELIGION OF “CHRISTIAN” “SCIENCE”? [1 of 2] Founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879, Christian Science is not Christian and not Science—not even close. By both secular and biblical definitions, and like all other cults, they get their source of authority wrong: Instead of being a true Christian organization that trusts the Bible, they get their dominant beliefs and practices outside God’s Word. Whenever people get away from following our Creator’s plan, they end up being led by man's ideas and those of the murderous, lying demons that people connect with. Christian Science claims to follow the Bible, but then tweak and
contort Scripture to make it say what they want, choosing to follow
the false teachings of Mary Baker Eddy—their ultimate authority. Cults like Christian Science get life’s most important truths wrong, including the nature of man and God, the Trinity, the personal work of Jesus Christ, and the means of reaching a wonderful afterlife (salvation). Unfortunately, many famous people have been duped Christian Science, and those have probably caused millions of others to join. Among past Christian Scientists are Robin Williams, Kelsey Grammer, Val Kilmer, Ellen DeGeneres, Muppets creator Jim Henson, author Danielle Steel, singer Bruce Hornsby, and Metallica’s James Hetfield. Prominent Christian Scientists
from further back were Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda,
Robert Duval, Audrey Hepburn, Joan Crawford, Ginger Rodgers,
Carol Channing, Ernest Hemingway, Doris Day, and Jean Stapleton
from the 1970s television show All in the Family. | image tagged in christian science, cult, bible, mary baker eddy, god, jesus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

WHY DON’T TODAY’S JEWISH RABBI’S BELIEVE
JESUS CHRIST IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH THEY HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR? [3 of 3] Imagine what would happen in our time if Jesus came along to challenge the powerful politicians running the world. How would they handle Him bringing up all their corruption and outright evil? Would they embrace Him? Most likely, no. They would try to save face, and preserve their ill-gotten wealth, which means they would council their nations to distrust Jesus Christ (actually, they already do). In fact, they would probably claim Christ is an intolerant liar who incites violence, hoping that would lead to the people somehow eliminating Him. It was no different two centuries ago when the rabbi’s were concerned about losing their authority to Jesus, and facing serious retribution from the people they had been ruthlessly controlling through thousands of rabbinic laws. Back then, the power was in the hands of religious leaders
(the rabbi’s) who decided to crucify Jesus. And it would probably be the same
reaction among our powerful politicians today. Those who had Jesus eliminated
centuries ago didn't like the fact that He was jeopardizing the money, position, appreciation, and authority that the Jewish people had given the corrupt leaders. So, regardless of over three hundred Old Testament prophecies that Jesus was fulfilling, as well as all the miracles He performed to prove He is God, the Jewish leaders decided to turn the people against Christ, having Him killed so they could retain all they had. And two thousand years later in modern Judaism, the Jewish leadership is still pushing Jesus aside: They won’t even entertain the question of whether Jesus is the Messiah, which makes rabbinic writings extremely biased against Jesus, and they won’t allow Jews to decide about Christ for themselves—rabbi’s spread the assumption that “no good Jew” should even read the New Testament. So, their current policy on Jesus Christ allows no exploration of the truth, just the blind leading the blind.
Still today, Judaism’s leaders don’t want anyone to learn about Jesus, and this
follows two thousand years of Jewish rabbi’s covering up the truth about the
most famous Jew in the history of mankind. Throughout the centuries and
even up to today, Jesus has been the most recognizable name ever, and He
is written about in history’s most read book. Yet, Christ remains Judaism’s
unrecognized Messiah and its most widely held secret. | image tagged in jewish, politicians, jesus, god, bible, rabbi | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

WHY DON’T TODAY’S JEWISH RABBI’S BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH THEY HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR? [1 of 3] As human beings, we don't like to admit we’re wrong, especially when we must confess to being hopelessly sinful. Our human nature loves power and control, while we also want to feel special, important, and valuable. Knowing this, we should not be surprised when the Bible tells us humans had a similar mindset two thousand years ago, during a time of widespread religious hypocrisy and corruption—like today. So, the love and pursuit of power and control—mixed with religion—was also pervasive way back then. With all this in mind, is it possible that those rabbi’s accused Jesus and His followers of idol worship because they feared Christ’s ministry would cause them to lose power and status? Historical researchers located about twenty ancient sources, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, Josephus, and rabbinic writings that detail how absolutely corrupt Israel’s religious leaders were during that time of the Second Temple. They wanted Jesus dead, even though He let them know He hadn’t come to abolish God’s laws; He said He came to fulfill them. What Jesus did reject were the manmade traditions invented and hallowed by the rabbi’s of Christ’s day. Those
were called the “oral law.” But Jesus knew that tradition just
produces religion, and religion distances us from God. | image tagged in rabbi, jewish, god, bible, jesus, israel | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
