You may think Hindu meditation is able to entice the secular world, but can’t snooker Christians. Unfortunately, it's been in the Church for years! In the Christian Church, Hindu evangelizing would not have been able to get away with its real name: “Eastern transcendental meditation.” Instead, they Christianized it, which is the devil’s same old method of repackaging false teachings (lies). This time they did so using Christianese to dupe Christians into thinking the idea came from God. Meditation in the Church was disguised as "contemplative prayer.” Though it says, “prayer,”
it is not from God. Still, that lie has created one of the fastest growing
practices in the America Church today—plain old pagan meditation. And anyone who pushes meditation far enough, will have a spiritual encounter, but it won’t be the Spirit of God. The Bible instructs us to pray WITH our minds. We do contemplate (thinking deeply) while having a real conversation with God, but that’s not what is meant by the term, "contemplative prayer.” It is nothing like Christian prayer to God. "Contemplative prayer has slowly increased in practice and popularity among the emerging church movement—a movement which embraces many unscriptural ideas and practices.” Eastern meditation has been labeled as contemplative prayer to infiltrate Churches by claiming you will have a genuine encounter with God. Again, you eventually will connect with something, but it will not be the Spirit of God. Instead, it will be a

![IS MEDITATION OKAY? [3 of 4] Opposite of Christian prayer, Hindu meditation is inwardly focused on one's own spirit, seeking to supposedly gain self-awareness through this occult practice. What does the Bible say about that? Are we supposed to focus on ourselves? No! Romans 8:5-6 tells us to deny ourselves, because focusing inwardly only leads to death. But using our minds to pray to God in a conversation leads to life and peace. So, meditation is nothing at all like biblical prayer. "Those who practice transcendental meditation are setting their minds on their own spirit, looking within themselves in order to transcend themselves, rather than on the Spirit of God. Searching one's own mind—or emptying one's mind of all thought—may result in numbness or a temporary escape from reality, but...cannot bring true [and lasting] peace.” Meditation is for getting people into an altered state of consciousness (a hypnotic state), making them highly suggestible to dark spiritual realms we do not want to mess with. The Greek root is almost a direct translation from "barbar," referring to the barbarians who lived in foreign lands. We can go straight Him without rituals because all the work has already been done FOR us by Christ. In Hebrews, John says Christians have the freedom to go with boldness directly to God, always finding Grace and help from Him in our time of need—isn't that mind blowing!?
To me those words feel like they are coming off the page. John is amazed at the thought that we Christians are actually CHILDREN of GOD. Can you believe that, after all the bad things we've done?! Romans 5 talks about how—as ungodly sinners before being saved—we hated God. And God certainly does not need us. But He still chose to die for us so that we can become what we are today: His actual Christian children.

[4 of 4] Then there's this important fact about the rock solid credibility of the Bible: Scripture was written over a period of 1500 years, through 40 generations, by 40 authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fisherman, poets, statesmen, etc. Before getting saved, I used to say the Bible was whipped up by men, but even on his best day, man could never put together something like the Bible. The writers didn't even know each other, so how can critics claim they conspired? The diverse authors of the Bible were from all over the spectrum: Moses, was a political leader; Peter, a Fisherman; Amos, a herdsman; Joshua, a military general; Nehemiah, a cup bearer; Daniel, a prime minister; Luke, a doctor;
Solomon, a King; Matthew, a tax collector; and Paul was a rabbi. Scripture was written in all kind of places: the wilderness, a dungeon, on a hillside, in a palace, from prison, while traveling, by John on the island of Patmos, and during military campaigns. That last one was during war, but some of the Bible was also written in times of peace. So there were many different moods of the authors, from the heights of joy to the depths of despair and sorrow. On top of all that, Scripture was written on three continents (Asia, Africa, and Europe) in three languages (Hebrew, Koine Greek, and a small part was Aramaic). With those aspects of the Bible in mind, here are the mind-blowers: Never once does the Bible contradict itself and it gives the same message throughout the Old and New Testament.
