[1 of 2] When witnessing about Christ to those in the religion of Judaism, you may hear them say Christians believe in three Gods, but Jews have only one. Jewish people choke on the idea of the Trinity, though a quick explanation shows it is not an issue. In fact, even Jesus taught that there is only one God: Christ quoted Deuteronomy 6:4 from the Jewish (and Christian) Old Testament when questioned by a scribe who asked Him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”; Jesus answered, “The most important one is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.’ ” So, Christ certainly supported there being only one God. And we can reciprocate with this challenging question for a Jewish person: Who is Scripture talking about in your—and Christian’s—Old Testament book of Genesis (1:26), when God says, "Let us make man in our image." Genesis uses the Hebrew word “Elohim,” which means a plural number. As a pastor who travels frequently throughout America and also to many nations around the world, (for conferences, interviews, and other public speaking), I talk with a diverse population. One common, misinformed, and alarming misconception is presented to me by people everywhere, and it is because they do not investigate this monumentally important claim that has them clinging to a completely false hope: Men and women all around the planet rely on their ticket to a pleasant eternity being their status a “relatively good person,” or “fairly good person." But that doesn't make you a Christian. Contrary to that tragic delusion, Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father [God in heaven] except through Me.” We have all broken God's law, whether it's lying, stealing, lusting, practicing idolatry by loving things or people more than God, breaking other commandments, or all of the above. Just one of those sins against our Creator is the constant self-focused idol worship of our modern society. According to God’s Word in the Bible, anything can become our idol, including money, possessions, television, other entertainment, a hobby, another person, or even ourselves. When we get preoccupied with something to point where that obsession is more important than our relationship with God, it is idol worship. HOW IS THE BUDDHIST “BAHA’I FAITH” GREATLY IMPACTING WESTERN CULTURE TODAY? [1 of 5] Of the many sub-religions that have spun off from Hinduism, Buddhism is the most known, but the majority of Americans don’t know that Buddhist thought has greatly impacted the terminology of our culture, mindset, and even belief systems—as have smaller false faiths with roots in Hinduism. For example, most have not heard of a sect of Buddhism called Baha’i (Ba-HI) Faith, but the New Age movement in Western culture gets its philosophy from Baha’i, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Other Buddhist offshoots are Jainism, Hare Krishna, Taoism (also called Daoism), and Zoroastrianism. That last one was founded in the sixth-century, BC, by a man in Persia named Zoroaster. Hindu-rooted, Buddhist Baha’i teaches that individuals from all different world religions and cults can pray to whomever they’d like, because it’s just the same God being referenced by many different names. Today, that attitude has become prevalent among people all over the world, including here in our American society—even in the Christian Church! In fact, I’ve heard Christians say they reference “Allah” in the place of “God” when witnessing to the Muslims. But Islam’s Allah is a completely different entity, certainly not the God we Christians worship; both Muslim and Christian leaders widely acknowledge that fact. DON’T ALL FAITHS LEAD TO HEAVEN? [2 of 3] The devil has been blinding the minds of unbelievers, and his greatest deceiving tactic is to get people, (even born-again Christians), away from the Bible. Christian or not, if you don't know the Bible, you can much more easily fall pry to a cult. Wisdom and a wisely spent life depend on a person's source of truth: If you stick with the Bible—the indisputably Word of God given through men—you will be perfectly fine. But most won’t do that, so the vast majority of humanity remain uniformed of their Creator’s plans for our lives, just because they don’t study the Bible. The more closely we follow God’s ways, the more our lives become filled with happiness, peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, and many other fruits of the Holy Spirit that come from a close walk with God. [1 of 3] Scripture says our world lies under the power and sway of the evil one, Satan, and the Bible’s book of Acts (chapter 2) is where we see Christ’s Church born—which is when the devil was defeated—praise God! Though Lucifer knows this, he’s so stinking evil that he has continued his deceptions for the two centuries since Jesus’ victory. The devil dupes as many humans as he can, so that we people, who are made in God’s image, will join Satan for an eternity of judgement in the Lake of Fire. His main despicable tactic is setting up false faiths by polluting God’s Word in the Bible, getting us away from it, twisting it, cutting from it, pasting into it, and anything else he can do to corrupt truth. He wants us to believe anything and everything, as long as it is not the honest Word of God. Over two centuries, that process has led to countless pseudo-Christian groups like false world religions and cults, as well as other cults and pagan occult groups; so many deceptive beliefs that the average person today can’t imagine God would only save those on the narrow road of Christianity.
