DAY 42: WHY DO LESS THAN 50% OF CHRISTIANS TRUST THE BIBLE 100%? [3 of 4] Another reason we can trust the Bible is that there are close to 25,000 copies of the New Testament, some from the actual lifetime of the writers. It used to be that the oldest were amazingly within only twenty-five years of the date written, but now we even have Scripture from the same year the writing was originally created. Those copies are on scrolls that were stored in pottery at Qumran in the Judean Desert, part of Israel’s West Bank. And for some strange reason, that extraordinary historical find gets no attention from the secular media or airtime on the History Channel.
Why would they ignore Old and New Testament materials, especially when
some of the latter are from the same year the original was written. I’ve repeated that twice because it is absolutely phenomenal and greatly contributes to the unquestionable reliability of the Bible. Now let’s contrast the Bible with similarly ancient writings from Aristotle and Plato—that no one mocks as unverifiable. The Bible has 25,000 copies, some from within the same year as the original, yet people feel free to question the authority and authenticity of Scripture, while the earliest copies of Plato and Aristotle are 1200 and 1400 years removed, respectively, from the originals. And there are only seven and forty-nine copies of those works on the
whole planet. No one scoffs at the authenticity of those books, while at
the same time they do with the Bible, which is exponentially more
reliable, even if all you look at are the original writings. | image tagged in bible | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

DAY 41: WHY DO LESS THAN 50% OF CHRISTIANS TRUST THE BIBLE 100%? [2 of 4] A second testament to the veracity of the Bible is the Jewish copy methods, including writing on long-lasting surfaces like animal skins, pottery, and even copper scrolls. Through God’s sovereign plan to preserve His Word for future generations, many of these Scriptures were stored in the desert, where extreme dryness greatly facilitated the preservation process. It’s almost like God knew what He was doing, right? Also, the
Jewish scribes had to produce these Scriptures
with the exact same number of lines and; columns throughout every Bible codex (an ancient text in book form). In fact, the process involved a mathematical formula, a mandatory recipe for the ink, and nothing being written from memory—not even insignificant punctuation. The copiers had to sit in full dress and rewash their entire body each time they wrote the name of God. Even if a king or other royalty addressed a scribe doing this sacred work, the copier could not acknowledge that noble, an insubordinate act that
was most likely punishable by death. So, you
can see that the integrity of the manuscript
was an extremely serious endeavor. | image tagged in bible | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

DAY 40: WHY DO LESS THAN 50% OF
CHRISTIANS TRUST THE BIBLE 100%? [1 of 4] Knowing the Bible is exactly the way God wanted it laid it out for us, Christians can fully trust it as the only book that has all God’s truth and instructions, the correct history, and a completely reliable look into our future. Contrary to that solid foundation for life—which involves a relationship with Jesus—cults and religions just prescribe rituals, donations, mantras, sacrifices, worship of malevolent entities (demons), and other works you must perform because of empty threats and promises. And those teachings from man don’t reveal ultimate knowledge and truth because only the
Bible can do that. In fact, much of man’s teaching involves lies. Of course, the Bible has skeptics who claim we can’t trust that Moses around 1445 BC wrote about the Garden of Eden in Genesis. But that’s the importance of the Bible’s genealogies, like the three men in Genesis 10 who together live through the first 2157 years of mankind. How could that be? Well, we know people lived longer life spans during the first couple centuries, and that’s not just spiritualizing the biblical text: We even have proof scientifically, as we detail with our study called In the Days of Noah, which is part of
our Creation Series. So, much of Scripture’s history came from only
three guys who knew each other for a long, long time; it wasn’t
just some breakout session during a weekend conference that
hopefully archived the information accurately. | image tagged in bible, christian, god, jesus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

DAY 39: WHAT DOES THE HINDU GREETING
“NAMASTE” MEAN AND SHOULD CHRISTIANS SAY IT? Here is a thorough explanation: “The word namaste, pronounced ‘NUHM-uh-stay,’ is a common [Hindu greeting in India,] often used in conjunction with a small bow and with the palms of one’s hands placed together, fingers up, in front of the chest.... With some aspects of the Hindu/Indian culture becoming increasingly popular in other parts of the world, yoga for example, the use of namaste is increasingly popular as well. “A Christian
should not say or do anything that originates from a different
religion without first examining its meaning and origin...
The word itself literally means ‘I bow to you’;
culturally, it has come to mean, ‘I bow to the god in you,’
and more fully, ‘the god in me bows to the god in you.’; “The saying of namaste is incompatible with the Christian faith. Human beings are not gods. There is only one God, and He does not share His glory (Isaiah 42:8). Bowing to or showing any sort of respect to any false god is idolatry [Ten Commandments.] Depending on the version of Hinduism, Hindu beliefs and practices are polytheistic [many gods] or pantheistic [all is god] or a mixture of both. Namaste seems to come from the more pantheistic forms of Hinduism that see everything and everyone as god. Whether you actually intend to communicate the literal meaning of namaste is irrelevant.
Would you say, ‘You are a god; I bow to you’ to someone in
English? Neither should you say a word that means precisely
that in Hindi, Nepali, or any other language.” | image tagged in hindu, namaste, god, bible | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
