This meant his trainees, Mary Baker Eddy (Christian Science founder) and Warren Felt Evans, were also lacking biblical training. On top of that and going forward in time, Aimee Semple McPherson, who most Pentecostal and Word of Faith denominations come from, also lacked a biblical education. When you trace the history of the Word of Faith
movement, here's their origins and modern result tell us this:; WOF was basically founded by biblically-UNTRAINED leaders. They were not students of the Bible. Instead, they learned from PAGANS and CULTS. Still, even with that non-biblical foundation, today they claim to be extra-spiritual, even more spiritual than other Christians. In fact, they say the rest of us suffer because we are missing out on their teachings. Besides the false teachings, in this way too, they create division in the Church. Why do they do so? It's because they are pushing false teachings that most followers do not recognize as repackaged Hinduism. With only a name change to "Word of Faith" teachers, our Christian Church

[1 of 3] This question is related to the false claim that biblical "speaking in tongues" can be gibberish: Around 1900, with little biblical education, Charles Parham invented the idea that the language spoken in tongues MUST be unknown, meaning it must be gibberish. Parham attracted students and insisted they wear the latest clothing fashions, which goes right along with today's Word of Faith people who tell us that Jesus wore designer clothing. So, this guy Parham was the person responsible for originating the unknown-tongues thing, even though his first female student, Agnes Ozman, is now accredited by the charismatic community as the first person to speak in gibberish tongues.
But her-teacher Parham did that, and even Ozman did not believe him. She taught that it must be a KNOWN language—in her case, Chinese. That account shows that even the charismatic leaders have not gotten their foundational history right. Now, let me give you what Agnes Ozman actually uttered, what she characterized as "Chinese." Though this will be hard to believe—and a bit funny if not so tragic for those following her teachings—this has been well documented. Without ever studying Chinese, Ozman not only claimed to speak it, she also said she could write it, both of which were untrue. Here's a partial transcript of what she supposedly said in Chinese: "Lazzo, lauzo, logal, eenie, meenie, minie, moe.” I did not make that up! And even if she blurted out some legitimate
Chinese, which she didn't because we know what she said, a Chinese
message would not end with the English phrase, “eenie, meenie,

You may think Hindu meditation is able to entice the secular world, but can’t snooker Christians. Unfortunately, it's been in the Church for years! In the Christian Church, Hindu evangelizing would not have been able to get away with its real name: “Eastern transcendental meditation.” Instead, they Christianized it, which is the devil’s same old method of repackaging false teachings (lies). This time they did so using Christianese to dupe Christians into thinking the idea came from God. Meditation in the Church was disguised as "contemplative prayer.” Though it says, “prayer,”
it is not from God. Still, that lie has created one of the fastest growing
practices in the America Church today—plain old pagan meditation. And anyone who pushes meditation far enough, will have a spiritual encounter, but it won’t be the Spirit of God. The Bible instructs us to pray WITH our minds. We do contemplate (thinking deeply) while having a real conversation with God, but that’s not what is meant by the term, "contemplative prayer.” It is nothing like Christian prayer to God. "Contemplative prayer has slowly increased in practice and popularity among the emerging church movement—a movement which embraces many unscriptural ideas and practices.” Eastern meditation has been labeled as contemplative prayer to infiltrate Churches by claiming you will have a genuine encounter with God. Again, you eventually will connect with something, but it will not be the Spirit of God. Instead, it will be a

![IS MEDITATION OKAY? [3 of 4] Opposite of Christian prayer, Hindu meditation is inwardly focused on one's own spirit, seeking to supposedly gain self-awareness through this occult practice. What does the Bible say about that? Are we supposed to focus on ourselves? No! Romans 8:5-6 tells us to deny ourselves, because focusing inwardly only leads to death. But using our minds to pray to God in a conversation leads to life and peace. So, meditation is nothing at all like biblical prayer. "Those who practice transcendental meditation are setting their minds on their own spirit, looking within themselves in order to transcend themselves, rather than on the Spirit of God. Searching one's own mind—or emptying one's mind of all thought—may result in numbness or a temporary escape from reality, but...cannot bring true [and lasting] peace.” Meditation is for getting people into an altered state of consciousness (a hypnotic state), making them highly suggestible to dark spiritual realms we do not want to mess with. ![IS MEDITATION OKAY? [2 of 4] The Hindu technique of mediation is something Jesus warned us about. He told us not to pray like the pagans, who babble on and on. The Greek root is almost a direct translation from "barbar," referring to the barbarians who lived in foreign lands. The Greeks called them barbarians because when the Greeks heard them speak, it just sounded like, "brah, brah, brah, brah, brah, brah, brah…” So, Jesus is telling us not to be like the pagans, who sound like barbarians when they pray to their idols. And meditation’s mantras (chanting words or phrases) are just repetitious babbling. Jesus said not to do it, because it’s not the same as biblical prayer. When we Christians pray, obviously it is not about the Hindu practice of focusing our mind on repetition of meaningless words or phrases.
