Poem to a friend | In the quiet of his sorrow, lives a man named Max,

Trapped within a cycle, never breaking facts.

He walks a weary circle, through days and nights the same,

Consuming all around him, till they leave him in his shame.

He reaches out for solace, yet grasps at empty air,

His heart a well of longing, his mind a tangled snare.

He yearns for understanding, but his actions sow despair,

And those who once embraced him, find they cannot bear.

Again and again, the pattern starts anew,

Max takes all they offer, leaving none to renew.

They force him out in sadness, with heavy hearts and tears,

And Max, bewildered, wonders, why love disappears.

He moves to new beginnings, with hope he'll find his place,

But the loop tightens around him, it's the same relentless race.

He cannot see the shadow that follows in his wake,

The draining, endless need, the hearts he seems to break.

Oh Max, the sad man wandering, forever in a loop,

May you find the insight, to step outside the coop.

To learn to give, not only take, to break the cycle's sway,
