Comment memes are in My Images and I think they have views and likes. Am I right? Interesting how notifications (at least on PC) can go back and back.
reply
9 ups, 1 reply
well you can see the comment meme and how many views it has, but it doesn't show you how many likes it received as a comment, just as an individual meme
reply
9 ups
I see... I find it also a bit confusing how a comment can then be submitted as its own meme, so its like it has a double-life. How can one track likes for the image as a comment, and as a meme? I think the comment should remain a comment, and if you want to post the comment as a meme, imgflip should "duplicate" the comment as a meme in order to submit it, so they are two different items.
reply
9 ups
What I'm thinking is...a "my comments" tab would allow "ONLY" the user to click on their old comments and it takes you back to the original meme that you commented on...much the same as the 5 comments we see now do. Just want to expand on that is all.

There would be so many,... they would have to be in a cloud somewhere,... and then there are the trolls.....
reply

This whole site is already in a cloud...trolls wouldn't be a problem because a "My Comments" tab could only be seen by the "User"...they already save all our comments, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to restore all of our comments after the hacker deleted them....I just want to have access to my comment "history"...that's all.

I have made a few suggestions, and I'm sure I have more. It's good to provide that feedback via the suggestion form on imgflip website, or via a meme, although the latter is indirect and could easily get missed. I think there are a lot of minor things that would go a long way to improving the experience. Caching is still an issue, the like button not appearing clicked although you liked it, notification links not taking you to the comment on a busy meme, etc. etc.

7 ups, 1 reply
I kind of found a way around that on a pc...if you have chrome, you can open multiple windows and go into multiple notification tabs...if you go into the comment streams of different memes, you can go back and forth between different memes and comment on multiple memes fairly quickly...however, if you open two instances of the same meme and try to comment on both of them, one after the other, you will still get the error.

They claim to treat people equally, but I know for a fact that is a lie. All my original memes sit in limbo for 6 hours and then finally get featured on page 9 of the latest tab, so they get hardly any attention. So tell me why I should respect someone who has only shown the ability to create a site.

Yes I am entitled to something, equality. How many other people wait 6 hours for a meme to be featured and then when it finally is featured, it starts on page 9 of later of the latest memes? Yes I know some people have had to wait a few hours for their meme to get featured, but I have never seen anyone state that their meme was not on the first couple pages of the latest memes. And don't give me the same bullshit amount multiple memes posting at the same time. Every hour there are new memes posted, an average of 30 memes each hour. For a meme to end up on page 9, there has to be 112 memes posted right affer it. So we are talking 4 hours worth of postings, more if the average is less. If I submit a meme at 7am and it doesn't get featured until 1 pm, why should my meme be placed in line where it would have been 6 hours prior instead of with the memes that were just featured at 1? To start a meme on anything but the first 3 pages, that significantly reduces the chances of it ever being seen, gives it a 0% chance of ever being a front page meme, and hurts the overall status of the memer.

BTW, if you don't like my attitude, then maybe you shouldn't be replying. When you can already tell I am ticked off, antagonizing me, insulting me, or trying to tell me how I should do things will not help the situation. Continuing to do so for hours on end while at the same time not listening to a thing I say is just harassment, plain and simple. So you have a choice to make. You can either be a good little memer and stop being a little b**ch, or continue with you insulting and harassment and see what good that does.

Im sure they haven't programmed the website to be preferential to certain users. How would that benefit them? Post to Reddit and within minutes your meme is not on the first page of latest, and you'll be lucky to get any upvotes. That's the way it goes. Yes I know about custom memes, I submit a lot of custom ones - they go through some kind of approval process and usually sit until the evening. I submitted one this morning around 8am and it's not featured yet.

3: 30 minutes making a meme? don't you have homework to do in that time?
4: join the club you're not special
5: insulting and attacking the admins? that's like a contestant of the Xfactor insulting the judges and audience. you lose more than you gain.

1- the whole point of the meme was a f**king joke. I hate long memes and I hate memes that beg for upvotes. This meme was to make fun of all of those. Too bad you are too f**king stupid to see that.
2- The same amount of memes make the front page, regardless of the size, 10 of them. So your point is invalid.
3- No homework when you are an adult with a full time job.
4- The complaint is not that they are not on the front page, but that they get featured on pages 9-12 of the latest when they get featured. None of my original memes ever start on page 1 of the latest. Learn to f**king read first so you can understand what the complaint is about.
5- Considering they have never showed me an ounce of respect, why the f**k should I give them any now? They have never done anything to address any problem I have presented them with, let alone acknowledged that I contacted them.
6- It is not just the 6 hours, you f**king dumbass. It is ALSO the FACT that they start on page 9 or later of the latest memes. I wouldn't care if it was 12 hours to get featured, as long as it could be one the first couple of pages.
7- It is called wanting to receive the same amount of respect that you expect me to show others. If I haven't received respect from certain people, why should I continue to give them any.

I wondered about it but I don't think they have time to think about reordering memes. But much of how imgflip operates is a mystery. Because memes are released in bunches, if it is a large bunch it could be on a later page. I personally don't like long chained memes but that's just my preference. Imgflip should be about fairness, so they shouldn't be reordering things. And they should stop promoting those anonymous memes from other sites. I saw your meme on your profile, but post the link here so more people can see it.
reply
6 ups, 1 reply
Sorry I should have clarified, I just remembered, those anonymous ones are created using imgflip generator but then posted elsewhere. I don't like that those memes appear at the top, and imgflip should put them at the bottom or not show them at all, to support the users that have accounts and post on this site. It seems backwards to me. But like I said earlier, it's easy to poke at imgflip flaws but this week is meant for showing some appreciation that a community has formed here, and imgflip is providing the service that we are using, basically for free.

There are actually different imgflip users that will post as anon, mostly because of what the meme states.

I personally don't like long memes either, which is part of the reason I did it and why it is as long as it is. I also combined my hate of "begging" for upvotes with that. I figured since both of those concepts get a lot of votes then why not make it all into 1 meme.

As far as to why it started on page 12, that is what doesn't make sense. A new batch of memes is featured every hour, at least. I submitted that one at 7:45 CST, along with anothet meme that uses a regular imgflip template. The other meme was featured by 9 am. If they do it on the top of every hour, the long meme didn't get featured until 1, since I checked at 12 and it was still submitted. And it is not like they needed to view it first, since it already had 5 views before I submitted it. So why 6 hours and why page 12, I don't know, but if these admins have anything to do with it, that only supports my conclusion that they are not treating everyone fairly.

Mine aren't even getting on the first page of the latest. They start on at least 2 or 3, some on 9.

And I am not saying the site is programmed to favor certain people, I am stating that the admins and more specifically Dylan favor certain people. I broke one rule with a different account and that account deleted. I explained to Dylan why I did it and showed where another user was breaking multiple rules and nothing happened to them. How would you describe that?

I've had one meme make it as far as the 2nd Hot page out of about a hundred featured - the rest? I can't find them unless I go to my images page. I am not the entitled one. How about you f**king listen as to why I am pissed at the admins so much.

A few months ago there was a problem between me and another user. This other user was harassing me, naming me in meme comments to insult me, and overall ruining my experience on this site. This is at least 3 violations of the terms and conditions of this site. I contacted the admins about this person, no response. His harassing continues. I contact again, still no response and still his bullshit continues. I contacted the admins about a dozen times about the violations of the rules for this site and they don't do a damn thing. The final contact to the admins I told them that if they were not going to do anything then I would take matters into my own hands. No response and no actions taken by the admins. So I went thru flagging the other user's memes so they became NSFW. They were not deleted, they just couldn't be seen unless you were searching for NSFW memes. My account gets deleted within 24 hours. Why? Because I violated the rules by ruining the experience of another user. This was the first and only reply I got from Dylan with regards to any of this. I e-mailed him directly stating that if my account should be deleted because of that, then why has the other user not had their account deleted for all the things I have listed they were doing, and even linked the memes in which it was taking place. No response and no action taken on the other user. Even to this day that user still has his original account and all his memes, including all the ones he made about me.

So you tell me, if you experienced this, getting harassed by another user and the admins wouldn't do a damn thing about it, especially when that user is in clear violation of the rules, how much respect would you have for the admins?

It wasn't just a bad experience with a troll, dumbass. The fact that the admins refused to even address what was going on after I clearly showed how he was ruining my experience on this site and my account was the one that got deleted in the end, the admins compounded the bad experiences. There wasn't even a comment from them stating they didn't see any violations from the other user. So once again I ask, how can blame not be put onto the admins for the bad experience and for what reason should I show them an ounce of respect?

If you are just going to refuse to read what I state, why even bother coming back to reply? You have lost any chance of every gaining a shred of respect from me in the future, so why not just leave. You apparently don't have the intelligence to answer any of the simple questions I asked in my last comment, which means you lack the intelligence to have any rational discussion with. So how about you just f**k off and go back to sucking your own dick, because saying anything else to you at this point is not worth the energy.
