You seem to equate bartending with flipping burgers when it can, in fact, be a VERY well paying job.

Maybe she enjoys bartending. It's a very social job and can, in fact, be well paying.
While I do agree that braging about your private education is a little pretentious, so is looking down on someone because they're a bartender.
