haha....6th or 7th grade the novelty wore off. Although I still find them to be a bit funny today. Always a good satirical look at the current events.

Have not seen one in a while.. but the best satire ever! I'm listening to Obama speech on guns. . If my TV was 3D.. his nose would have poked out my eye already. He wants expanded BG checks.. then says "there is no guarantee it will prevent anything". I'm of the mindset.. no gun regs outside of 100% confiscation, will prevent gun crime. So why not address the social issue of why thugs want and use guns? I was in Japan and was amazed that there are beer vending machines on streets.. never vandalized. Kids underage don't use them. They respect the law. Not so here in the US. Thugs have no respect for laws.. authority, nothing. That's the issue I see.

As a gun owner i am all for making it really hard to get and keep guns. And I think they should be registered and insured. If you "lose" a gun you should be prosecuted. All guns start out legal. It's not like S&W is selling them out the back door to criminals.

Now when you finally stop the bleeding of "legal" guns into criminal hands like they end up now...the criminal "illegal" guns will be taken off the streets like they are now in traffic stops, raids, busts, etc. By simple attrition you will eventually have FAR fewer "illegal" guns out there.

And no one has taken away 1 gun from resposible, legal owners.

I see mental evaluations becoming an issue too. What if you have an argument with your wife.. she calls cops and says she's scared of you cuz your a vet and you own a gun? And fabricated it so you are losing a shotgun you inherited from your great great grandad.. never to be seen again? Every time there are too many laws.. too many agencies... little understanding... mega abuse!

Agreed.. except the prosecution for stolen guns. I know that a burglary can happen.. in less than a minute. Honest citizen with a shotgun in his bedroom corner shouldn't go to jail because he was a victim of a crime.. imho. People should be safe from prosecution if they are obeying the law in their homes. I wouldn't want my grandmother going to jail for a stolen shotgun in bedroom that she was legal to have. Is that what you meant?

But see...the hang up (not for me) is keeping track of people's guns (where mandatory insurance helps) but it would keep people honest.

the key is consistent and national laws. Chicago is an island SURROUNDED by vast oceans of loose gun laws. Of course guns will still get in.
