Russia has hyper sonic missles. These have rendered the carriers obsolete. The Aegis missile system was defeated in the Black Sea. USS Donald Cook... (look it up) Don't mean to burst your balloon...but the world has changed.
Except also as weaponry such as that is developed, others are developed to surpass them. A modified LaWS designed to target missiles would potentially do the job in no time...
