I do agree that people are affected differently, that's why I was speaking in general terms. Personal tolerance is a huge factor, and then of course we get into trying to compare whatever an equivalent amount is for weed and alcohol. It's easier to quantify how drunk someone is going off the amount of drinks vs how high someone is due to the different methods of partaking and quality of the grass, which seems to be a main problem now; how to determine how high you can be to still safely drive. I just believe that overall weed is safer to society than alcohol and can be beneficial as it is an herb, while booze is just a toxin with no beneficial uses. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, I think it's obvious why weed has been criminalized for so long. It's an herb with many different medicinal benefits, which the pharmaceutical companies don't like, and I'm sure they've had many back room meetings with goverment officials to keep it illegal. Also, the government has profited from weed being illegal, busting teenagers, fining them, putting them on probation ans drug testing them, that's a lot of money in the goverment's pocket. The funny thing is, the tax revenue in Colorado from legalizing it and taxing it is massive, which is why it will soon be legal nationwide. It all comes down to profit.
