Heard some kids say to me "Why don't we just nuke ISIS?" I say "Because the use of nuclear weapons on a terrorist organization whom uses ordinary towns and cities to hide in would result in thousands of civilian casualities." Some looked confused so I said "A lot of normal people would die." Those days I felt good about myself because I enlightened -or tried to enlighten- Young kids. Maybe I should become a teacher :l

Actually according to the Muslim faith he was a Muslim and was one of their major prophets... and like in Christianity is supposed to return one day.

Moreso the point i was making was, would Jesus viciously mow down his enimies with a machine gun or would he try to make peace?

He would bravely try to teach the savages about loving one's neighbor and such and would then die for his troubles when they slaughter him for being an infidel. My point is turning the other cheek in this case only gets you slapped on both cheeks. ;)

But the whole thing is that turning the other cheek is what the bible says unconditionally, im not saying its the right thing to do, but it definetly isnt the way God would want it

Redstone... there are lots of quoted in the bible that justify the sword... or are similar to turn the other cheek. It will always depend on the severity of the offense against a person. Your quote is accurate for something minor.. as in you and i. If you say something or do something that is not invasive in a harmful way.. why not turn the other cheek. A person of your character would not be abusive a 2nd time,.. because you would realize your error. But not so for others who would continue to cause harm. As a trainer,.. i liked this verse: Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my arms for battle, and prepares my hands for war. Psalms 144:1 God knows that evil exist. . And evil people,.. and we good people must stand up to evil. I know you don't identify as a Christian, but you are far from evil and I believe you would stand up to evil people as well. Christians will do the same.

Not true. The Bible is full of commands that tell Christians to kill others that do not believe as they do. The difference is the Muslims practice what their Holy Book says while the Christians do not. As people have become more civilized they have thrown away the barbaric tenets of religion realizing it is only used as a means of control.

I am aware of it, but Christians say that those rules do not apply, as they were abolished by the crucifixtion. By the aay, i am not christian, i am agnostic, I do beleive religion was created as a method of control, as any religions emerged at the same time as many old empires and kingdoms

Well that's always been a source of amusement for me. Christians say the Bible is God's word and cannot be altered, yet they say this dead Jewish guy changed the rules where in the old testament is says clearly that anyone who adds or detracts from the original word is a false messiah. So the reality is if you are a true Christian you cannot believe in Jesus because he changed the covenant.

Jesus didn't change the covenant, he abolished it.
Rev. 22:19
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (I think this is the verse you're thinking of.)
Also, Matt. 5:17-18 reads "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
Jesus fulfilled the prophecies in the OT by doing away with the law.

I dunno. Jesus kinda flip-flopped on the wishy-washy stuff. He had no problem kicking the money lenders physically out of the temple. So much for the peacenik stuff, JC...

He didn't hurt anybody though. Think of it like a police officer busting a drug deal.
