Very true. The poem had a politically satirical element to it, that seems to have been lost to history. Possibly mocking a king or nation, etc. Similarly, the Bible never said Adam and Eve bit an apple, just a fruit of some kind. Modern mythology developed it into an apple, just like Humpty being an egg.

It didn't really have to. They burned the bodies of those infected. The pocket full of posies were to put up to your nose to combat the smell of death and sickness.

I have always found the best parts of humanitarian history to be how we interchange the stories of how our ancestor remember an event in history. All that I think, 'ring around the rosie', reminds me to do is; burn the bodies of the inefected, while in an enclosed space.

@anona247 I would imagine some of the worst points in our human history is when our ancestors killed infected that could have survived in the name of, 'safety'.

Isn't the poem about a cannon during a war. The wall the cannon was on broke, making the cannon fall, and Humpty was the cannons name.
