I still don't know who it is, but, I don't watch the news. I just wait for someone to mention something I don't know, then I look it up. I'm just too sick of hearing about these types of stories right now to deliberately learn more. ;)
Ok, from what I've gathered he was killed in a terrible way. A hunter lured him out of the zoo with meat so he could shoot him on private property which is legal...probably.
I don't know, apparently it was friendly with humans so they might of left it unattended. They could probably teach it not to try escape if it was friendly as well. But that's just my theory.
Apparently people don't understand what a reservation is. Or what wild animals are. It was not "friendly" with humans, and it was not in a "zoo". Google some information before you tip the moron scale off the charts. A guy killed a wild lion, as people have done for the past century, but because it was a tourist attraction and had a name people pretend they care.
If you read the comment you might of noticed i said "i wasn't sure of the exact details". I did google it and the first thing that came up was "Large, powerful, but regal," Cecil was known for being comfortable around humans.
98% of the rhinos in the Savanna have been gunned down in the past 60 years. 1 subspecies extinct, 1 near extinction. The population went from over a million to less than 3,000. Most were killed only for their horns, which were sold to black markets in China to be used as medicine. I don't see anyone upset at China because they'd father kill a rhino for something that has NO medicinal effect versus a freaking aspirin. Where is the outrage of the annual dolphin slaughter in Taiji, Japan, where they round up hundreds of dolphins and club them to death in shallow water? Oh, that's right. The media doesn't care, so the general public doesn't either. How hard is it to see you are BEING TOLD WHAT TO THINK.

Jack:it's pronounced potato, you're clueless despite it being obviously close to what you meant and I've repeated what i said 2 seconds ago for absolutely no apparent reason. I also lack the ability to tell someone information (that they already knew) without insulting them.

I don't give a shit about the f**king lion i was telling him what had happened to him.
So basically, you were trying to explain what happened when you had no idea. Just talking to talk. If you don't know what you're talking about, do us all a favor and shut the f**k up. You could have typed a couple of phrases into your search bar and found out, but instead...

One does not simply fail that hard and play it off like some minor mistake.
Absolutely, 100% incorrect. A zoo keeps them in small enclosures that are not that animal's natural habitat. A reserve is a section of an animal's natural habitat that it is illegal to hunt in. Basically, you section off part of the Savanna that animals are protected in. The animals are never captured or caged and are "free" at all time. There's no difference to the animals in a reserve or non-reserved land. The only difference applies to humans.
You told me i was 100% wrong and then repeated what i said exactly what i said for the first few lines, also the animals aren't free because they're in a sectioned off part of the savanna.
I honestly think that one lion shouldn't cause all this fuss. Oh, now the media's all over it so now you're some kind of conservationalist? Where were you when rhinos were being killed for their horns, or elephants for their tusks? This is ONE LION, for gods sake! (When I say "you", I mean the average dumbass.)
