I don't think people should be made to feel bad because they don't want kids. If you don't feel like you can handle kids then that makes you more compassionate to not have any if one really thinks about it.

Better than having them anyway and still not wanting them. Kudos to the people who realize they'd be bad parents and avoided the challenge.

i'm told i'd make a great parent by nearly every woman i meet. however i can't get past the Whining, screaming, yelling, breaking stuff, and how costly they are to raise. let alone the factors of being responsible for another human who is going to do all in their power to try and make your life a living hell for the first 5 to 18 years of their life.

We did the same to our parents ;), and sometimes you get lucky; my kids have their moments, sure, but, all in all they're great kids, and they make my life worth living. And I was too scared to have any for the longest time. I waited for God to tell me. Maybe
your aversion to so much is Him telling you! (Or Her. Or Buddha. Or Whoever you follow ;))

Fool. Jesus didn't have kids and it's implied he didn't feel attraction, so I am more like him that way

While I respect your decision not to have kids, procreating is the natural order of things and it is nice to give a reason why you are essentially rebelling against nature

Tell me about humans what can fly with wings, have poisonous fangs, and can breathe underwater

Every animal animal as something that no other species can do

What if in this case that the decision not to have kids is something that no other species does?
0 ups, 10y,

Considering every other animal procreates in some way, making said decision is more unnatural than unique
0 ups, 10y,

That leads us back to my first point, no other animal drives or shoots or goes on the internet so is that more unnatural than unique as well?
0 ups, 10y,

You can teach some animals to drive so it isn't that unique, shooting is definitely unnatural since no other animal has come close to creating something like a firearm, going on the internet is probably a bit of both

As I said before though: wanting to procreate and have children is something wired to every single animal. Reproduction itself is one of the primary ways to tell if something is alive. Humans are the only animals that can have a desire to not want to have children, it is a paramount exception to nature. And like I said from the start, its nice to have a reason to why someone essentially wants to spit in mother nature's eye

You could teach an animal not to reproduce by punishing it every time it tried to, like an electric shock or something.

1. Proof?
2. Even if you can prove it, that is humanity getting involved and screwing up the natural order of things so it really does not count
2. Why would you even do that in the first place? That is just utterly cruel

Well then teaching an animal to drive is getting involved and screwing up the natural order of things, the same goes for partly going on the internet.

This makes me think of asdf movie
Mad scientist: they said I'd never be able to teach a llama to drive
Llama:maaaaah
Mad scientist: no llama no!
*llama drives of cliff*

So you agree that guns and computers are both unnatural? If so then why don't we need god reasons to use computers.
People don't need reasons to use guns and I'll shoot you if you say any different.
0 ups, 10y
Unnatural does not automatically equal bad.

Guns are useful for defending ourselves and hunting for food

Then why do we need a reason to not have kids if it's not bad?
0 ups, 10y
See my very first comment. Also, why not give a reason?

Not having guns/computers/tv's/houses etc is is against the natural order of things but i don't need to give someone a reason why i have that stuff
0 ups, 10y
They aren't as different as not wanting to have a kid

"Give us grandchildren or you're selfish". Geez it's not like we have a shortage of humans on this planet

That situation does apply though in some countries though, in about 27 countries they have a declining population.
