As long as there are narcissists there will be people pushing for socialism. Socialism feeds narcissism. If gives the narcissists in control the power over people that they crave and it gives their narcissistic minions and excuse to enforce their overlords rules on you.
That is the ONLY reason why socialism, fascism, communism and any other form of tyranny exists.
Then there are the weak minded suckers who hear the promises of socialism and develop a cult-like devotion to it. It becomes a religion. They will kill for those false promises.
Socialism is the greatest bait and switch scheme ever invented.
It is like an old saying that is sometimes attributed to P.T. Barnum of the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Baily Circus, "There's a sucker born every minute". That is what keeps socialism alive.
That and it is promoted in the media and entertainment industry.
