The more you regulate something, the more it costs. Not just for the company to meet those regulations, but for the consumer because the costs land on them. When companies make things and they pay to meet regulations, the cost has to go somewhere, and it unfortunately, lands on us, the consumer.

So you think the better choice is to leave companies unregulated just to save a little bit of money?

How about a middle ground — carefully constructed regulations that aren't just political? Regulations that don't restrict free markets and innovation. Regulations that don't punish small business and benefit corporations.

I agree that regulations should absolutely not be political. But I'm sure you know as well as I do that companies that exist to make money will try to find any loophole they can, and the fewer regulations, the easier it is for them to cut corners which puts workers and other people in danger. I'm not saying everything has to be regulated to the point of absurdity, but too little regulation causes real problems which we have seen from history.
