It's true. Here is a clip from his own show where he debated a British Politician and argued that Britain should have never fought in World War 2 in the first place. The politician isn't even left leaning, he's a conservative pro-Brexit politician:

I think he said it in the context that the Muslims are taken over Europe. And that Hitler and the Nazi’s never would have allowed that to happen. The lesser of two evils.
