Bullshit. Were Geritol Joe & Dingle Barry Republicans? Dingle Barry devastated the economy. WV had $300 million in its rainy day fund that got wiped out . The state cut back all government agencies. I lost 10 hours a week at my job. Others lost 20.
It was a nightmare. That's reality not a "hot drop" from the 'cow.

So it's Obama's fault that a dirt poor red state didn't have enough money?

West Virginia, of all places, whose state motto is, "Well at least we're not Arkansas."

Poor/Southern/Red States we're so flush with cash THROWN AT them by the Federal Government that they not just gambled it on Wall Street, they gambled on derivatives, toxic assets.

When Bush's Great Recession came along, those bottomed down, and those States lost a crap ton of our money that we gave them on what was literally described even back then as toxic assets. Sort of a combo pyramid scheme/hot potato. Everybody knew they were bad and doomed to fail, the trick was to profit as much as they can off them before that bag ripped.

That was part of Obama's trillion dollar bailout Stimulus Plan, bailing out those states that couldn't even afford their teachers or fire departments and even the corrupt evil sheriff anymore. We should have left them to rot for gambling way our money as many have suggested.

The sooner we can get rid of those states, the better.

Speaking of West Virginia and Arkansas, if I had absolutely no choice and had to live in one of those two states, it would be kind of a tough choice. The northeast part of West Virginia is only about an hour from Baltimore, but if I lived in Arkansas, I would be just a short drive down to the good food in Louisiana.

When I was a kid, one Easter vacation we spent visiting a relative who was a doctor at a VA hospital somewhere in West Virginia, I don't recall where. He resided on the grounds. It was really nice. Another year, we spent it at Ripley, family friends that lived there. It was really nice too.

They started recessions? Oh that's right, no, they had to rescue us from them.

Recessions start under Republican presidents, and Republican presidents start recessions. Exception would be George HW Bush who inherited a recession started by Reagan, who himself started not just one but two actual recessions during his his wonderful Reaganomics trickle down the leg rescue of the economy.

The economy experienced the biggest growth spurt since World War II under Obama. Not only that, he broke past the usual 8 year cycle ending in recessions, growth continuing past a decade until Trump came along and ruined it.
