Kid, you know how I said that proportional relationships are fair, because what you get
out is always the same
number of times bigger
or smaller than what you put in? So if you put in 0, you get 0, right? That was true about proportional relationships, but not all relationships start at 0. So, sometimes you put in 0 and you get 3? Or negative 3, but each bit you put in still changes what you get out the same way. Those are linear relationships. Okay, I think I've got it--; The thing is, kid, in real life there's never just the one relationship: you're always dealing with more of a system of relationships . . .
