I thought that went without saying even from the left - that the only question is about commonality. At least it does here in Denmark. I guess a lot has changed in the U.S during the past 7 or so years. What was common knowledge is no more, and the left is at a need-to-know basis.
If the story was about illegal circumcision practices, it would be about both Muslims and Jews, but most likely Jews since that's widely reported on.
