That's how it used to work. People rebuilt after a disaster without government help long before Reagan warned us about the most dangerous words in the English language.

There's even a story of two back in the 19th century of the federal government showing up to help after a disaster only to get a whole bunch of guns pointed in their direction by the townsfolk.

I see you forgot all those people who got flooded in the Carolinas after a Hurricane that were screwed by the Biden Administration.
