I mean.. you CAN tax your way out of debt, IF your citizens are relatively tax-free in the first place, and the loan is temporary and reasonable.

But the problem is, government spending is way out of control and STILL increasing. Debt is massive and still growing. The people are already being taxed to death.

The solution is STOP SPENDING and watch where your money goes carefully. Democrats refuse to do both and protect fraud.

If the government is broke ,then the people are broke, raising taxes is a nail in the coffin - government runs on taxes, if you are being taxed to death, as you mentioned, and the government is still billions short of cash.. it means, they are spending too much. Its a two part solution, lower taxes and radical spending, if the government did those two thing, you would have a stronger society and growth.

Now the million dollar question: cut which spending and keep which spending?

well, first thing i would end is all foreign aid, I would pull all military from foreign countries and back to the us and stop defending other countries, end all welfare to any non citizen, massive pay cuts to government employees, and anything else that doesn't directly help the American citizen. As to what our government should be spending on and only on, is healthcare for elderly, and disabled, defense of the country, infrastructure, and making sure our water and air is clean, thats all.
