Yes COVID was real, so is the flu. When it first developed, doctors were describing it as a bad flu. When you look at State Health Department stats for the COVID period there is a glaring discrepancy, flu deaths dropped from historic patterns to near zero during COVID. Doctors were reporting that they were required to put COVID as the primary cause of death if someone with "comorbidities" died of the "comorbidities" (Heart condition, cancer, renal failure, even gunshots) and tested positive for COVID post mortem. Everyone took it seriously until it started to smell like a giant turd. I drove truck OTR during all of this, only because the company I worked for had a contract with Johnson and Johnson and was deemed an essential worker. Part of the job involved backhaul, where we picked up loads of new steel cans and hauled them to Campbell's and haul loads out to food distributors. The experts declared that steel can company employees were not essential workers, but soup workers were. So the soup workers had no cans to put their products in, and consumers got no food on their grocery store shelves. When you drive 500-600 miles a day hauling literally everything and patterns of stupidity show up everywhere, you start to ask questions. The best part was Washington DC shut down with remote work. What used to take 2 hours to drive through only took 30 minutes with no traffic. Same with NYC, crossing the GWB took minutes instead of hours.
