What’s so bad about it? I’ve heard nothing but good things (besides the story) and I’ve been thinking about getting it on sale

First of all, they killed off Joel in the most retarded way possible just because they wanted Ellie to be a lesbian girl boss and needed the father figure out of her way to do that. For two, Joel never would have trusted the people who beat his head in with a f**king golf club. For three, the story is shit overall and Sony has done way too many remasters for the two games.

Yeah I’ve heard the story sucks but I usually skip cutscenes in games so that doesn’t really bother me

The gameplay is also slow and boring going off the first game.

I would not play this if you skip cutscenes in games. It's extremely story driven. The story is excellent if you have a fully developed brain, but if you skip it you will likely be very confused for a lot of it.

The story is hot dogshit because of the literal and figurative character assassination of Joel. Remember how he instantly knew the guy he passed in his car wasn't hurt in the first game? He never would have trusted the f**kers who beat his head in with a golf club. They just wanted to kill him off to make Ellie a lesbian girl boss with no father figure in the way of that. The story is shit if you even remember the tiniest thing about the first game's story.

Yeah, like I said, I can tell by the way you talk you're not ready for a college level discussion on story-telling. It was definitely a mistake on the marketing perspective to put such a deep plot in an action game and try to market it to people who aren't used to thinking beyond and elementary level, but I'm not entertaining the discussion with someone who obviously doesn't want a discussion. And Ellie clearly isn't a lesbian, btw. You're just showing your true colors (or sad lack thereof). This really isn't the place for it to begin with since this site caters to a less developed demographic anyway, but you posted a knowingly controversial opinion publicly, so I publicly responded. Enjoy your low mental effort action games though. They certainly have their audience.

That's like me telling people they're just not smart enough to read my story when they give valid critiques.

It's not good storytelling because they forgot how Joel acts. Do I need to explain this to you this many times? HE WOULD NOT HAVE DIED BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT HAVE TRUSTED THE PEOPLE WHO BEAT HIS HEAD IN WITH A GOLF CLUB. Do I need to beat that sentence into YOUR skull? Do you even remember when they were driving in the first game and they passed a looter with a limp. Do you remember how Joel knew he wasn't even hurt? It's not like him to drop his guard like that and allow himself to get his head beaten in by people he blindly trusted. They wanted father figure Joel out of the way so Ellie could become "independent," and a "girl boss." That plot point wouldn't be so flawed if Joel just died of old age or something, but they made the mistake of doing a literal and figurative character assassination of Joel. One flaw can make a story fall apart, and that's EXACTLY what happened with The Last of Us Part II. You can larp and say "oh, you're not ready for college level storytelling," just to defend a game from haters. But I have a valid reason to hate the game because of the one major flaw that takes the story apart in a game that's mostly story. So go ahead and say I'm an idiot for giving a valid critique and calling this game horrible for it's story because a good sequel remembers it's predecessor. This one forgot one major detail; Joel is not an easily trusting man.

Pretty sure threatening physical violence on people for disagreeing with you is against ToS. I would strongly suggest therapy.

Yeah if I’m interested in a story I don’t skip any cutscenes, I don’t skip them in souls games, resident evil, and I don’t skip them in uncharted games, not even on replays

Tom Holland has beyond an elementary school level media literacy. Though I do agree that two year old games don't need remasters.

Where's my mother f**king Bloodborne Remaster, Sony?

even if it’s just an upgrade to 60 fps with no other changes I’d pay 80$ for it and I’m broke. They could farm so much money so easily
