California firefighters are increasingly shifting their focus to the state's homelessness crisis, which now drives nearly a third of all emergency fires.

Proactive Outreach and Education: Fire departments (such as in Redding and Sacramento) are actively visiting encampments. Firefighters distribute educational materials, advise on safe cooking practices away from dry vegetation, and warn of penalties for illegal fires

I live in Colorado, these fires were caused by a giant lightning storm that passed through the state. Drought conditions created the perfect fuel for these fires to spread rapidly.

Two summers in a row this has occurred, last year it was Black Canyon National Park and the Uncompahgre Plateau as well as the Deer Creek fire which produced one of the largest fire tornadoes in history, this year it's state wide fires, including in Ouray and Colorado National Monument(Pictured in post)
