That's shocking. Also, I thought one of the goals of EVs was to have an alternate power source in case we run out of oil. What about biofuels? Couldn't we find a way to synthetically generate oil, gasoline and kerosene from plants? It might be cheaper than importing them from overseas if we do it in the United States, and we wouldn't need to make big infrastructure changes. Those biofuels could be transported and delivered using the same equipment we already have.
You think maybe EV car makers are being bribed by airlines to limit how far people can drive to encourage people to travel by plane more often? That sounds scary, but plausible.
