Definitely a possibility. I know for myself, they all know someone who worked for a federal government funded NGO (Non-Government Organization my foot) or they know someone working for the feds who had funding freezes, and so forth. The tentacles of the federal government have invaded everything. I have (had) a son who works for a Department of Energy subcontractor and he suddenly hated Trump and Musk because Trump froze hiring on day 1 to shut down the Biden/Democrat flood of the bureaucracies with new mole hires who would obstruct the new agenda. Obama did it the first time. Seems the EPA addition to his team had to wait 90 days. Saddest thing is he no longer wants to have anything to do with me because I've suddenly become a Nazi, racist, bigaphobe, boomer.

But I am so sorry to hear about your son. Unfortunately many young people fall into the Democrat's mindset of free stuff. We can only hope he later sees the values of conservatives/Republicans have much higher moralistic standings. I'll put out positive energy out for you both.
