Wait... what?

Wait... what? | House Republicans passed a bill on Wednesday that would allow nationwide year-round sales of E15, a blend of gasoline mixed with 15 percent ethanol, also known as Unleaded 88—a product that refiners and retailers normally cannot sell in around half the country during the summer months due to air pollution concerns. | image tagged in pollution, fun fact, today i learned, republicans, gas, sad but true | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

It's shit for so many reasons

15% ethanol (E15) gasoline should not be used in small engines, such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators, or string trimmers, as it can cause damage, void warranties, and lead to overheating. E15 is only approved for 2001 and newer passenger vehicles.

Meanwhile back in reality the 1st coal mine I worked in back in the 80s used leaded gasoline. Manufacturers switched to unleaded to avoid carbon build up. I worked in a Chevy garage too.

Let's see. Biden. Hmmmm. Biden, Oh yes, seems I had been working in the oilfield until the SAVE THE PLANET agenda decided that most of the people working on the drilling side of the US oil and gas industry needed to join our brothers in coal learning how to code. Never mind that our drill rigs are highly automated and require working knowledge of computers, vfds and numerous other objects of high tech. Biden couldn't control the war in Ukraine, but he sure depleted our armaments supplying Ukraine. All he had to do was say Ukraine would not become a member of NATO and Putin would have been content knowing he wouldn't have potentially hostile missiles on his border, but we all now the Military Industrial Complex wouldn't stand for that. Right? Yeah, Biden had to Indian Leg Wrestle control of the presidency away from that darn AUTOPeN whenever he wasn't running circles around his staff.

Attributing the post-COVID record-high gas prices during the Biden presidency to the 2020 Trump-brokered deal is a major oversimplification. I'm aware of that deal. The record-high gas prices during the post-COVID recovery were driven by a perfect storm of economic and geopolitical factors rather than Trump's 2020 production cuts. As global lockdowns lifted, an immediate surge in demand caught producers off guard, creating a severe supply lag that was exacerbated by U.S. oil companies choosing to prioritize shareholder dividends over drilling new wells and ramping up production. This supply crunch was worsened by a loss of domestic refining capacity due to pandemic-era closures. The final catalyst occurred in 2022 when Russia's invasion of Ukraine and subsequent international sanctions triggered global energy market panic, sending crude oil prices skyrocketing and driving prices at the pump to where they were.

Nice AI synopsis.

Perhaps if you actually looked at the entries, those weren't books, those are articles, and most were dated April 2020, although I see one for November of that year as well. That's what they're about, what began the upward climb in oil prices, not Trump spending the next 5 years remaking th deal to get the Saudis and Russia to limit production.

You can simply type out any of those articles and read it for yourself, or just the subject will do for a whole list them to turn up because Google.

Hope this clarifies things.

First, this wasn't AI. Second, that's a meme. It's a joke, whether or not it's a book or an article doesn't matter. Third, here are my sources:

- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020%E2%80%932022_world_oil_market_chronology (A Wikipedia page that gives a timeline of the world oil market 2020 through 2022.

It never is.

Not sure if you didn't get the hint, but 2020 lasted only one year. Would you like to take a guess which year 2020 was?

What kind of lame response is this? You're not clever, nor are you making a whole lot of sense to someone who wrote an essay on this topic for civics class last year. That essay is currently being peer-reviewed, and will hopefully soon be published in a political science journal. But sure, I just have nO IdEa what I'm talking about. Also (this might surprise you) 2020 was actually 2020!

I really have to break this down to you?

I posted a column of articles from 2020 regarding a deal Trump made with Saudi Arabia and Russia to cut oil production in 2020 in order to boost oil prices as their response to a glut of unwanted product during the Covid Lockdown was to put out even more in order to outcompete each other with shinier cheaper prices.

Thus starting the trend in rising oil prices which we saw afterwards, as per design.

Thus there was less oil available for sale in the market.

Once demand increased for it, there was still less oil available for sale in the market.

Half the oil companies that were gleefully fracking away in the US prior to 2020 had shut down. Forever. They didn't just go and turn the spigot and resume production at the same levels prior to them going bankrupt.

Thus prices continued to go up. Because math.

What did you think was supposed to happen?

Where you actually around when any of this happened?

What is the reason for the major difficulty you're having in understanding this?
