Well, people that calling themselves "the left" usually are the problem.

see that's exactly what i'm talking about. very fine people like yourself try to stigmatize 'the left' based on a small fraction of the population who have beliefs or engage in behaviors you don't agree with. then you try to justify the stigmatization by crying foul when liberal politicians try to protect the country by requiring immunizations against deadly diseases or create tax-funded programs for the flood-ravaged or when they try to develop planet-healthier energy sources or limit the damage from climate change or when they support basic medical and scientific research and so on and so on. from an objectivist point of view, it looks ill-considered. you probably noticed that most people don't tell you what to do as long as you don't threaten or harm other people. let's all be like that. The ordinary left (and right) leaning people don´t call themselves right or left.
The selfproclaiming left in western society are moralizer and I am yet to find a moralizer in any age and place that is not the issue in their society.

It is not my problem that the moralizers call themselves "the left" it is the lefts problem, same goes for christians a group stigmatized in the USA into absurdity for the same reason. And it will happen to "the left" as well because that is what society does to moralizers.
