I agree. You can't earn a billion dollars as a bartender. You've proven her point, my guy. Here's why:
Based on data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average age of a bartender is about 35. Most only have a high school diploma, work part-time, and are single (for all intents and purposes in regards to marital status). Using Federal Reserve SCF, OECD, ECB HFCS, and Credit Suisse data and using the basic model for calculating net wealth (income × age × education × employment × marital × savings × assets − debts) with a ±34% uncertainty since we don't have some of those factors we can estimate the average US bartender's net wealth to be somewhere between $13,988 to $28,214, and the average income is about $55,000 (with tips included). At $55,000/year, you would need 15,265,791 years of work to match Elon Musk's wealth. You'd need to live 190,822 full human lifetimes back-to-back. America could declare independence 61,063 times. That's 61,063 Industrial Revolutions stacked end to end. Islam could rise and spread 10,904 times over. Christianity could be founded 7,633 times over. Our entire species could evolve from scratch 51 times. Humans could discover fire 38 times over. Elon Musk earns per second $2,128 if his wealth grows at 8%/year. A bartender's average daily earnings amount to about $151, compared to his $184,000,000 day. He could buy 67,008,657 people full healthcare for a year. Or 2,398,910 homes at the average US home price. Republicans used to call bullcrap on this, and now they seem to just be complacent because they like the rich people who are in charge now. The most recent financial information we have on AOC—which comes from a financial disclosure she filed in late 2024—indicates a maximum net worth of just $31,000 at the time of the filing. That's 0.00220092297% of the money Donald Trump has made during (and using) his second presidency so far (as of January 2026). The $1.4+ billion he has made is 45,435 times her ENTIRE net worth. Please educate yourself—this post is a prime example of why we should stop defunding our schools.
