Thanks to democrats and President Carter the airline industry was deregulated. That helped the industry by significantly lowering average fares and expanding air travel, transforming it from a luxury into a mass-market service.
Many would have lost their jobs if the merger did go through. I went through the Northwest Airlines/Delta merger. Luckily I was able to take an early out offer and can now fly anywhere Delta flies for free with lifetime flight benefits. When I left Delta, my next job paid 20% more.
Wrong! You know nothing about airline mergers. How many did you go through? You are speaking from inexperience. Stick to politics if you don't want to appear ignorant, since you know nothing about airlines.
